by Karl Kemp
We discuss Rev. 6:3-17, which deals with second through the sixth seals of the book of Revelation. Then we discuss the 144,000 of Rev. 7:4-8 and 14:1 and 3

FORGIVING: MUST WE FORGIVE EVERYBODY? Always? With or without the offender asking forgiveness?
by Eugene Lopatynsky
How about Matthew 5:39: " But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also". Taken literally the passage appears to negate not only vengeance, but all defense against evildoers. What does our Lord require?

Some Comments on John Shorey's Teaching on the Mid-Week (Mid-Trib) Rapture, Part 2
by Karl Kemp
At the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet in the middle of Daniel's 70th week the Lord Jesus will return and the resurrection and rapture will take place. Revelation 12:5 is the most important verse in the Bible to show when the seventh trumpet will sound. We will discuss the seven seals. The rider on the first horse, the white horse, is the Lord Jesus or the gospel going forth throughout this age, or the equivalent.

Some Comments on John Shorey's Teaching on the Mid-Week (Mid-Trib) Rapture, Part 1 (of 4 Parts)
by Karl Kemp
I appreciate the fact that John Shorey teaches the mid-week (mid-trib) rapture in his book, "The Window of the Lord's Return 2012-2020," but I have to disagree with him on several points, very much including his understanding that the passages that speak of Antichrist waging war against the saints and overpowering them will take place BEFORE THE RAPTURE. I am sure that those passages prophesy of Antichrist (after he has begun his super-evil three and one-half year reign in the middle of the seven years) attacking those who become Christians AFTER THE RAPTURE, centering in the end-time remnant of Israel.

His Own Cross
by Shari Weigerstorfer
What Satan meant for evil, God turned into good. Perhaps this is why the cross has become the ultimate Christian symbol. Maybe our regard and affection for it is not manmade. Perhaps it comes from the very heart of God.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 7
by Karl Kemp
One reason the early Christian Fathers emphasized free will was because the idea that everything is controlled by fate (which is a denial of free will) was widespread in the world of their day. We will discuss this topic here in Part 7.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 6
by Karl Kemp
We discuss the prophesying of the Montanists, including the false prophecies. We must be very careful with such charismatic gifts. The demons have clever counterfeits for the gifts of God and they are experts at appealing to pride. Also, it is all too easy to have an admixture of the flesh. And I will demonstrate that although the early Christian Fathers often spoke of free will, they understood that we are dependent on the grace of God to become Christians and to live as Christians

Calvary at Cana

John's account of the wedding at Cana offers us so much more than the story of Jesus' first public miracle. There are treasures buried here that illustrate His entire ministry.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 5
by Karl Kemp
We discuss Tertullian (about AD160-240) and the Montanists here in Part 5. Tertullian became a Montanist some fifty years after that movement started. The Montanists had many things right, but they were overly strict and they required all Christians to accept their revelations as being from God. Some of their revelations were clearly wrong, including the idea that new Jerusalem comes down at the beginning of the millennium.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 4
by Karl Kemp
The widespread idea in the early Christian Fathers that Christians must be punished for their sins, especially their more serious sins, finally led to the idea of purgatory. Augustine (AD354-430) taught purgatory. And the idea of purgatory eventually led to the idea of indulgences. I include a shocking quotation from John Tetzel, a Roman Catholic monk, who went around Germany selling indulgences which would supposedly free people from purgatory. Martin Luther strongly reacted and the Protestant reformation was initiated.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 3
by Karl Kemp
The early Christian Fathers did not have problems dealing with the sins that were committed before the people became Christians, but many of them had a very serious problem dealing with the sins of Christians, especially sins like murder, adultery, or apostasy. Some came up with ideas like the church cannot forgive such sins, and many said that such sins can only be forgiven once, and widespread ideas like God must punish us for such sins because His honor has been defamed and His justice requires it.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 2
by Karl Kemp
We discuss Augustine and the Calvinists and Arminians here in Part 2. We also discuss Romans chapter 7, which is a passage that is very relevant to topic of righteousness, holiness, and victory over sin.

Free Will? Liberal Christianity. Punished for Sins We Commit After We Become Christians? Tertullian and the Montanists, Part 1
by Karl Kemp
We have limited freedom of the will after the fall; we are dependent on the saving, sanctifying grace of God in Christ to become Christians and to live as Christians. Three pages here in Part 1 of this paper are devoted to a discussion of liberal Christianity. Much of their teaching eliminates many, or most, of the foundational truths of Christianity presented in the Bible.

Hebrews Chapters 8-10: "We Have Been Sanctified" Through the Better Sacrifice, Part 3.5
by Karl Kemp
I'm adding this six page section, "In the Typical New Testament pattern, When Does the Spirit Come Bringing the New Birth and Spiritual Resurrection in Relation to Water Baptism," to supplement the discussion of water baptism and receiving the Spirit that ended with the lengthy discussion of Titus 3:5-7 in the middle of Part 3 of this paper.

Hebrews Chapter 11 and Faith, Part 2
by Karl Kemp
Hebrews 11:7-40 are discussed verse-by-verse here in Part 2. We can learn a lot about faith from these verses. I believe the two page discussion under Heb. 11:7 is quite important: Did Noah become "an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith," or "by" or "by means of" "the righteousness which is according to faith"?

Hebrews Chapters 11 and Faith, Part 1 (of 2 Parts)
by Karl Kemp
We can learn a lot about faith from Hebrews chapter 11. For one thing, the word faith is used twenty-five times. Faith is an attitude of the heart where we put God first (and the things associated with God), which includes trusting Him, believing what He says, and obeying Him. This definition doesn't tell us all we need to know about the meaning of faith in the New Testament, but it is very helpful.

THE LAMB OF GOD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT SANCTUARIES; CH- IV, PART- 5
by Dr Surya Kumar Daimari
The main purpose of these series of Bible study will be to make an exegetical survey of the sacrificial Lamb of God in the Old Testament passages mainly in the Sanctuary and its typological significance to the propitiatory and expiatory atonement work of the Lord Jesus Christ in the New as reflected in John 1:29, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Hebrews Chapters 8-10: "We Have Been Sanctified" Through the Better Sacrifice, Part 10
by Karl Kemp
We discuss Hebrews 10:24-39 here in Part 10. The writer powerfully called his Christian readers in these verses with the need to repent where repentance was required. He warned of getting to the place where "there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins" (Heb. 10:26). There is widespread agreement that the writer was concerned with apostasy that would include "trampling under foot the Son of God" and regarding "as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace" (Heb. 10:29).
