THE HUMBLE EMBRACE REPENTANCE
by linzy bruno
"Even a small amount can deceive believers into thinking everything they're doing is acceptable to God, that the sins they are denying are no big deal..."

Does God Still Give the Gift of Speaking in Tongues? Part 2
by Max Aplin
The Bible suggests that God will continue to give the gift of speaking in tongues until Jesus returns. There are no convincing objections to the existence of tongues today. We should take seriously the claims of Christians who say they have experienced this gift. Christians who donït currently speak in tongues should seek this gift from God.

The Mystery Nature of the Church Life
by Dr Surya Kumar Daimari
The Church itself is a mystery . Many theologians use the phrase âThe mystery nature of the Churchâ because of the mystery character of the Church as the body of Christ. In the N.T. the word âmysteryâ means a divine truth, formerly hidden but now supernaturally revealed to the men of God which can only be known through divine revelation

When the Wicked Surround You
by J Patrick Bowman
Have you ever felt that you were surrounded by people who wanted to take you down and make a mockery of you? In light of Psalm 12, we can assume that this was not only a feeling but a reality at one point in King Davidâs life. Letâs look at what David had to say.

Jeremiah, Judeâmessages for us today?
by Susan Hanson
The first chapter of Jeremiah is a basic introduction and lays out Jeremiahâs mission, so to speak. I believe the âenemiesâ in Jeremiah 1:15-19 refers to our personal enemies as well as the world/heathen/ungodly vs. the true church and compares with the first two verses of Jude.

FALSE FAITH
by Henry Miranda
How can we tell the counterfeits from the true Christians? This is not always an easy task. I have known church members for years, believing that they were dedicated Christians, only to find out later that they were counterfeits.

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 7
by Karl Kemp
We continue with the theme that there is no new-covenant salvation apart from the new birth and sanctifying work of the indwelling, Life-Giving, Righteous, Holy Spirit and that the charismatic dimension of the Spirit's work is necessary for the proper functioning of the Body of Christ and for taking the gospel to the world. These things are all included in baptism in the Spirit, which was first poured out on the Day of Pentecost. There is extensive discussion here in Part 7 on the meaning of the words baptism in the Spirit, which is the equivalent of receiving the Spirit and the giving of the Spirit.

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 6
by Karl Kemp
Section 11.1 is titled "The Epistle to the Galatians Demonstrates One Reception (Not Two or Three Receptions) of the Spirit when a Person Becomes a Christian; it Includes Being Born of the Spirit, Being Sanctified by the Spirit, and the Charismatic Dimension of the Spirit's Work." There is plenty of room for exceptions for various reasons, but the New Testament doesn't speak of being sanctified or entering the charismatic dimension of the Spirit's work as a second (or third) experience.

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 5
by Karl Kemp
Rather than speak of wrong thoughts and desires being eradicated as part of what it means to be entirely sanctified (to live in an abiding state of holiness), we should, I believe, have faith that the powerful saving grace of God in Christ will enable us to keep all wrong thoughts and desires from becoming sin. The wrong thoughts and desires that come with the old man/the flesh/the sinful nature, along with the input from the world and the devil and his hosts, are overpowered by the more powerful saving grace of God in Christ as we walk by faith. As I mentioned, I don't believe God considers wrong thoughts and desires that are resisted and overpowered to be sin.

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 4
by Karl Kemp
Hebrews 10:1-18 is one of many passages that demonstrate that Christians are called, and enabled, to walk in an abiding state of holiness. I don't believe that the old man/sinful nature has been eradicated and that we can walk in "perfect love" in any full sense, on a consistent basis, until after we are glorified, but I believe we are called, and enabled, to walk with the victory over everything that God would consider to be sin for us, by grace through faith. THAT IS A LOT!

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 3
by Karl Kemp
Our old man is crucified with Christ and we are dead to sin and demons only to the extent we walk in line with the Word of God and by the Spirit of God in the righteousness and holiness of God on a continuous basis by grace through faith. The Lord Jesus bore our sins with the guilt and the penalties, including the major penalties of spiritual death and bondage to sin. His blood has the power to cleanse us from being sinners, as we appropriate and walk in that power by faith.

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 2
by Karl Kemp
William Durham taught that all Christians are called and enabled to walk with the victory over all sin through identification with Christ in His all-important atoning death, resurrection, and ascension, by grace through faith, as in Romans chapter 6. He taught against the idea that we should wait for a second work of grace to be sanctified entirely. When you read all that he said, he also made it clear that the victory over all sin is far from being automatic or always easy. He understood that large numbers of Christians were not walking with the victory over all sin for various reasons, very much including the fact that large numbers of Christians had not been taught that we are called and enabled to walk with the victory over all sin. He also made it clear that Christians need to keep growing in Christ. The need for growth isn't sin.

A STUDY ON SANCTIFICATION THAT BUILDS ON THE INFLUENTIAL TEACHING OF WILLIAM H. DURHAM (AD 1873-1912), PART 1
by Karl Kemp
William Durham, an early Pentecostal, emphasized holiness and victory over all sin through the finished work of Christ, not by a second sanctifying experience. His view significantly affected the Assemblies of God and Foursquare churches, but not in the way you might expect. This paper extensively discusses whether the sinful nature can be eradicated and receiving/being baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Does Man Have an Immortal Spirit?
by Robert Hawes
It is commonly taught that human beings are really immortal spirits encased in bodies of flesh, and that, following the death of the body, the spirit continues to have a conscious existence elsewhere. This article probes that question by examining what the Bible has to say in regard to the nature of man.

What Is "The Israel of God" in Galatians 6:16?
by Max Aplin
The best interpretation of Galatians 6:16 is that the church is a kind of spiritual Israel. This counts against the view of most dispensationalists that God has distinct plans for Israel and the church.

Paradoxes and Tensions in the Christian Faith
by Max Aplin
Something that modern readers of the Bible often fail to recognize is how many paradoxes and tensions there are in the Christian faith. It is frequently the case that two things which at first sight seem to contradict each other are both in fact true. The amount of bad teaching in the church would be much less if there was better understanding of this.
