Left Behind--"The Challenge"
by Henry Bechthold
"Left Behind"; these two words have become famous in the contemporary Christian Church, especially among those who believe in the "secret rapture". I will provide a link at the end of this article that lists numerous scriptures which prove that this popular secret rapture doctrine is totally unbiblical. The amount of scriptural evidence contradicting this teaching is overwhelming.
However, in this article, I am personally addressing and challenging those who promote this dogma; in particular, those who proclaim the version of this doctrine which teaches that those who are "left behind", after the secret rapture, will have a "second chance" to be saved when Jesus returns after a great tribulation period on earth.

Israel's And Judaism's Feasts: Should Christians Keep Them?
by Henry Bechthold
Israel's and Judaism's feasts and ceremonies are being revived in some Christian circles by pro-Judaism church leaders who wish to implement the ceremonies and feasts of Judaism within Christianity. To begin with, they seem to intentionally forget that the offering of animal sacrifices was an integral part of all of these ceremonies and feasts. If they are right in saying that we need to be keeping these "old covenant" events, then we also need to be offering the animal sacrifices that were at the very heart of these ceremonies and feasts. Of course, contemporary pro-Judaism teachers realize that such a notion would be totally rejected, because all Christians know that Christ's sacrifice replaced the offering of animals.

The End Of The World
by Henry Bechthold
"The end of the world": could it finally be here? In Matthew chapter 25, Jesus spoke of a "midnight cry" that proclaims that He, the Bridegroom, is coming. Most of us have heard the expression, "it's the eleventh hour", which conveys the message that it is getting late and time is beginning to run out. And, many of us have also heard the expression, "it's ten minutes to midnight", which means that it is very late and time is almost gone. I honestly believe that neither of these expressions is adequate to describe how extremely late it is in earth's history right now. I would say that it is "one minute" before midnight. We need to get ready to proclaim that "the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, is coming".

The Ten Commandments
by Henry Bechthold
The Ten Commandments contain God's moral laws that He personally established and presented to Moses on Mount Sinai. Are they still "in force" today? Has God's law been abolished or changed in the New Testament era, as is suggested by some contemporary theologians and preachers?

Biblical Baptism
by Henry Bechthold
Our words, baptism and baptize, come from the Greek words "baptisma" and "baptizo". Baptizo (baptize) means to be "overwhelmed, fully wet or washed". Baptisma (baptism) means immersion or submersion; that is, to be plunged into liquid and to sink below the surface. It is interesting and significant that every reference to the baptism of people in the New Testament uses these Greek terms, baptizo and baptisma. Therefore, every New Testament baptism involved people being immersed, submerged or dipped below the surface of the water.

John Calvin
by Henry Bechthold
John Calvin is the author of the predestination doctrine known as Calvinism, which uses the acronym of "TULIP" to convey the five basic tenets of this dogma. In another article titled, "Calvinism Predestination", I present dozens of scriptures that thoroughly refute this teaching. What is Calvin's "TULIP" doctrine? As previously mentioned, it uses the five letters in the word tulip as an acronym to convey the following teaching:
T - Total Depravity of Man
U - Unconditional Election by God
L - Limited Atonement
I - Irresistible Grace
P - Perseverance

Calvinism And Romans Chapter Nine
by Henry Bechthold
Calvinism's favorite scripture is found in Romans chapter nine. This is the Calvinist "ringer text", so to speak. This is one passage that they believe cannot be refuted by those who oppose Calvinism. As you will see, this article shall conclusively prove that Calvinists' explanation of this text is contradicted by the overwhelming weight of biblical evidence. I will also provide a link at the end of this article that presents numerous scriptures which clearly and completely refute Calvinism beyond question. However, for now, we will deal with Calvinism's supposed "ringer text".

Calvinism Predestination
by Henry Bechthold
Calvinism's predestination doctrine teaches that God predestines individuals for heaven or hell through an "unconditional election" process. Some have the good fortune of being created with a one-way ticket to heaven, but most have the bad fortune of being created with a one-way ticket to hell, because Jesus said that "many" are going to hell, whereas only "few" are going to heaven (Matthew 7:13-14). Calvinists' "unconditional election" doctrine also asserts that human beings do not have "free will"; that is, they have no "freedom of choice". Thankfully, Calvinism's unconditional election teaching is contradicted by numerous scriptures.

The Star Of Bethlehem DVD And The Seven Year Reign Of Antichrist
by Henry Bechthold
"The Star of Bethlehem" DVD has caused many to accept 33 AD as the date of Jesus' crucifixion. This date is not only biblically incorrect, but also results in the endorsement of the "seven-year reign of antichrist", which is another false teaching. This article will biblically, chronologically and historically refute both of these errant doctrines, beginning with the 33 AD crucifixion date.

Is Israel Still God's Chosen Nation?
by Henry Bechthold
Israel is the center of attention for both the religious and secular worlds. From a secular perspective, Israel's importance is related to political and diplomatic concerns and foreign affairs. Israel's presence in the midst of the Arab world creates a scenario that influences the entire world.

The Secret Rapture
by Henry Bechthold
The "Secret Rapture" doctrine has gained worldwide attention through the phenomenal success of the, "Left Behind", Christian novel series. Millions have been told that they will truly have a "second chance" to be saved after Jesus has raptured His Church. This, of course, reduces the urgency to surrender your life to Jesus now, because you can catch Him on the rebound. And, unfortunately, many other church leaders also teach this "second chance" version of the secret rapture doctrine. According to all of these teachers, this secret rapture of the Church, which they say will be an inaudible, invisible and mysterious event to the rest of the unsaved world, could literally happen any day.

The Millennium: Christ's Millennial Reign
by Henry Bechthold
The Millennium, Christ's millennial reign, is a popular subject among those who study Bible prophecy. Many contemporary theologians teach that Jesus will reign in a temporal kingdom here on earth for 1000 years, which will occur between the first resurrection of the saints and the second resurrection of the wicked. They say that Christ's "eternal kingdom" will be established after the second resurrection and this 1000 year period. They also maintain that the 1000 year reign of Christ will be on this earth, but you will see that the Bible does not support their position. The 1000 years will be spent in heaven, not on earth.

The Two Witnesses Of Revelation
by Henry Bechthold
The "two witnesses" of Revelation is a topic that is much debated among those interested in Bible prophecy. I believe, and will biblically prove, that Revelation chapters eleven and twelve depict how God's people will prepare for their final encounter with antichrist's unified, systematic, worldwide attempt to annihilate them, and also depicts their powerful and difficult mission during the final three and a half years of earth's history, in which they are represented as the "two witnesses". However, before discussing the two witnesses of Revelation chapter eleven, we will first examine the final spiritual preparation of God's people in Revelation chapter twelve.

The Seven Trumpets Of Revelation
by Henry Bechthold
The "seven trumpets" in the book of Revelation are part of God's judgments that He will pour out on this wicked world during earth's final days. The prophecies regarding these "trumpets" are found in Revelation chapters eight, nine and eleven. Revelation 8:2-6 gives the introduction to the seven trumpets, which precedes the specific description of each individual trumpet.

The Antichrist Of Revelation
by Henry Bechthold
The antichrist is clearly described in the book of Revelation, especially chapter 13. And, in this description, I believe that we find Satan's ultimate counterfeit of God. Satan knows that God is a "trinity", one God, but manifest in the three distinct divine persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Isaiah 14:12-14 reveals that "Lucifer", Satan's original name when he was still an unfallen angel in heaven, wanted to become God. He said that he wanted to become "like" the Most High. So, now, during earth's final days, Satan tries to pull it off, by establishing his own false trinity, an "unholy trinity", on earth.

The Book of Daniel chapters 8-11
by Robert Randle
The Old Testament Book of Daniel is probably one of the more interesting narratives in the entire canon of Scripture, with the possible exception of the enigmatic Books of Ezekiel, and Revelation in the New Testament. most Fundamental Christian Theologians and Messianic Jewish scholarship believe 1 Daniel 9: 24-25 to refer to the person of Jesus [Yeshua] of Nazareth, and while this is a very convincing and plausible interpretation, yet, the context has to be taken into consideration by reading chapters 8 thru 11, for the most part.

Why Did God Create Satan Knowing What He Would Do?
by Greg Baker
As a pastor, I get asked, quite often actually, why God created a devil if He knew all the evil Satan would do. A corresponding question is why did God create the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? After all, if God hadn't created the tree, then Adam and Eve couldn't have sinned! This article attempts to give a logical and rational explanation to these questions.

Was Jesus around the age of thirty or fifty during His minisrty?
by Robert Randle
It is the traditional belief that Jesus [YESHUA] started His public ministry of preaching and healing at the age of thirty which lasted for about three and a half years but only two of the gospel narratives mention anything about Jesus' age including His trip to the Temple with Mary, Joseph and their relatives at age 12 (Cp. Luke 12: 41-44). Why is it that people are so quick to accept Luke's version about Jesus' age when He was not among any of the eyewitnesses and not only that, but since he was a Greek-speaking Gentile it does cause one to question how much access he could have had to Jewish sources that were reliable and willing to share with a foreigner the complete truth regarding their Messiah.

The Jewish perspective on whether the Messiah has arrived or not
by Robert Randle
One of the matters of disagreement between a Christian and a Jew when discussing whether Jesus was the Messiah is that if He really was, then why are things in the world as they are, and certainly even more so when it pertains to the nation of Israel.

Route of the Israelites Exodus from Egypt
by Robert Randle
In popular made-for-television movies about the Exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt, there is an innumerable sea of humanity, not to mention livestock and personal possessions of the Hebrew tribal clans as one massive and orderly emigration, but is this necessarily the case. There are a few things to consider, namely the total possible number of people, at least 600, 350 men age 20 and above (Cp. Numbers 1: 45-46), which just might not support Anthropological and Archaeological research of that time period.

Looking at the twelve sons of Jacob entrance into the land of Egypt
by Robert Randle
Those who have studied the Old Testament story about Jacob, his sons and their wives comprising a group of between 66 and 70 [or 75] persons enter Egypt and four-hundred fifty years later are liberated from enslavement by the mighty hand of God through the prophet Moses. The thing is, when you count all the descendants that are mentioned, notwithstanding those who are not from Jacob's loins, but through his sons/grandsons, the numbers don't quite add up exactly.
