John Chapters 10-12, Part 6
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 11:55-12:13 here in Part 6. In John 12:1, six days before that fateful Passover when the Lamb of God would be slain, Jesus came to Bethany, on the edge of Jerusalem. They prepared a meal for Him and His disciples. That was the occasion where Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha, anointed Him with a "very costly perfume," which included wiping His feet with her hair.

John Chapters 10-12, Part 5
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 11:33-55 here in Part 5. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead in John 11:41-44, after he had been in the tomb for four days. Having heard of this miracle, the leaders of Israel, led by the high priest Caiphas, determined, and with a high priority, that Jesus must be killed, and soon.

Unity In Truth
by Mick Alexander
Christians need to separate from false doctrine. There can be no unity between truth and error.

John Chapters 10-12, Part 4
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 10:37-11:32 here in Part 4. John 11:1-40 set the stage for Jesus to raise Lazarus from the dead in verses 41-44. This miracle took place shortly before Jesus came to Jerusalem for Passover, the Passover when He, the Lamb of God, would be slain along with the Passover lambs on Good Friday.

John Chapters 10-12, Part 3
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 10:25-36 here in Part 3. Jesus said that no one can snatch His sheep out of His hand, or out of the Father's hand. This is good news! But, as we will discuss, the New Testament shows that His people can rebel and turn from Him, against His will.
-
John Chapters 10-12, Part 2
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 10:3-25 here in Part 2. Jesus is the good shepherd, who voluntarily lays down His life for His sheep. His sheep, like the man who was born blind that Jesus healed in John chapter 9, hear His voice and they follow Him.
-
John Chapters 10-12, Part 1 (of 9 Parts)
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 9:35-10:2 here in Part 1. The man who had been born blind who was healed by Jesus demonstrated that he was one of God's true sheep by submitting to Jesus as God's true Shepherd.
-
John Chapters 5-8, Part 10
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 8:45-59 here in Part 10. Jesus continued to interact with opponents in Jerusalem. In verse 44 He called them children of the devil, who was a murderer from the beginning. In the last verse of this chapter (John chapter 8) "they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple."
-
John Chapters 5-8, Part 9
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 8:37-44 here in Part 9. Jesus told His Jewish opponents, who wanted to kill Him, that they were children of the devil, who was a murderer from the beginning, and a liar and the father of lies/liars.

John Chapters 5-8, Part 8
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 8:19-36 here in Part 8. I'll quote John 8:31, 32, 34, 36, which are verses of key importance. "So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed in Him, 'If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free,' ... Jesus answered them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. ... So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.' "

John Chapters 5-8, Part 7
by Karl Kemp
We continue to discuss John 7:53-8:11 here in Part 7, the verses that deal with the woman caught in adultery who was brought to Jesus. The scribes and Pharisees were trying to find grounds to accuse Jesus, but their plans failed when Jesus helped them see that none of them were worthy to throw the first stone at the woman.

John Chapter 5-8, Part 6
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 7:20-53 here in Part 6. John 7:37-39 are verses of key importance; we'll discuss them in some detail. I'll quote them: "Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out saying, 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, "From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water." ' But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified."
-
John Chapters 5-8, Part 5
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 6:57-7:19 here in Part 5. I'll quote two key verses, "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words I have spoken to you are spirit [Spirit] and life" (John 6:63). "Simon Peter answered Him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life' " (John 6:68). Jesus went to Jerusalem for the Feast of Booths/Tabernacles in John chapter 7.

John Chapters 5-8, Part 4
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 6:36-56 here in Part 4. Jesus is the bread of life, who came from heaven to give us eternal life, the life that became available through His all-important incarnation, His ATONING DEATH, and His resurrection. We will discuss the need for us to understand the balanced truth of what the Bible teaches about God's sovereign role in our salvation in tension with what it teaches about our definite need to appropriate salvation through faith (repentance and faith).

John Chapters 5-8, Part 3
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 6:1-37 here in Part 3. These verses include the miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand men (plus the women and children) with five barley loaves and two fish. John continues throughout chapter 6 reporting on that miracle and follow-up events, teachings, and conversations that followed that miracle.
-
John Chapters 5-8, Part 2
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 5:24-47 here in Part 2. I'll quote John 5:24, 25: "Truly [Amen], truly [amen], I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment [condemnation], but has passed out of death into life. Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead [the spiritually dead] will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live."

John Chapters 5-8, Part 1 (of 10 Parts)
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 5:1-23 here in Part 1. Jesus got in big trouble with some of the Jews at Jerusalem because He healed the man at the pool of Bethesda ON THE SABBATH and told the man to pick up his pallet and walk. Jesus responded that He only did that which the Father wanted Him to do and that the Father will give Him greater works to do that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father.

Contents For The Twenty-Eight Articles On Holiness And Victory Over Sin On This Christian Article Site
by Karl Kemp
These articles, which are included under "Bible Studies" on this Christian article site, are the written text behind my twenty-eight half-hour radio broadcasts titled, "Holiness and Victory Over Sin." These articles cover this super-important topic rather thoroughly, and they serve as a good introduction for my book, "Holiness and Victory Over Sin: Full Salvation Through the Atoning Death of the Lord Jesus Christ." I frequently quote from the book in these articles.

John Chapters 13-17, Part 10
by Karl Kemp
1 John 2:12-14 are discussed here in Part 10. The apostle John addresses children, young men, and fathers in these verses. I agree with those who believe John was addressing all of his Christian readers with these words. We are all like (we are called and enabled to be like) children in some ways, young men in some ways, and fathers in some ways.

John Chapters 13-17, Part 9
by Karl Kemp
We finish the verse-by-verse study of John chapter 17 here in Part 9. I'll quote four of the glorious verses we will discuss here: "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. ... Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. ... ...that they may be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. ... I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me" (John 17:15, 17, 21, 23).
-
John Chapters 13-17, Part 8
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 17:6-15 here in Part 8. I'll quote two of the key verses we will discuss, John 17:11 and 15, "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given to Me, that they may be one even as We are." "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one."
-
John Chapters 13-17, Part 7
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 16:10-17:5 here in Part 7. The Lord Jesus speaks much of super-important things the Holy Spirit will do when He comes (starting on the day of Pentecost). The first five verses of chapter 17 are very important. I'll quote verses 3-5, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was."

The Christian, the Law, and Legalsim, Part 1 (of 6 Parts)
by Karl Kemp
This is another very important topic where we desperately need the balanced truth of what the Bible teaches. I am very much trying to give the balanced truth in this paper. One reason this topic is so imporant is that it very directly affects the topic of righteousness and holiness. We need God's moral law, for one thing, to learn HIS definition of righteousness and holiness and what it means to walk in love toward Him and our neighbor.

1 Corinthians Chapter 15, Part 2
by Karl Kemp
1 Corinthians 15:30-58 are discussed in a verse-by-verse manner here in Part 2. The apostle Paul doesn't answer every question, but he discusses at some length the transformation of our present earthly, corrupt bodies into glorified bodies that will be appropriate for those whose entire existence will be glorified, even including reigning with God the Father and His Son forever.

John Chapters 13-17, Part 6
by Karl Kemp
We discuss John 15:16-16:9 here in Part 6. Jesus warned the apostles that those who hated Him and the One who sent Him will hate them too. But He also gave them the good news, the very good news that makes all the difference, that He would send the Holy Spirit to help them. His ability to help in every area of need is limitless. And when the Holy Spirit comes He "will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment" (John 16:8). We will discuss these words in some detail.
