Is There A Need For A Modest Clothing Industry?

by Randy Pope
3/21/2009 / Womens Interest

Although the mainstream clothing industry will design some adequately modest clothes, there is no question that there is a need for a distinctly modest clothing industry. If you are willing to spend all day traipsing from store to store you can possibly find that modest dress, skirt, or shirt that you need to add to your wardrobe. Fashion designers have added modest articles of clothing to their line because they have identified a growing market for modest clothes.

It is certain that the mainstream designers would have never recognized that market if the modest clothing industry had never spawned. You can be quite confident that if the distributors of modest clothing begin to lose market share that you will also see a decrease of modest clothes in the department stores in your community. Free enterprise works; if there is a demand, a supply will be created, but as soon as the demand diminishes so will the supply.

Consequently, the modest clothing industry is advantageous for two purposes. One, you no longer have to spend an entire day and a whole tank of gas in order to find modest clothes. All you have to do is look for modest clothing distributors in your favorite search engine. The modest clothing industry has made shopping a more convenient and pleasurable experience for those seeking a modest look.

Second, the modest clothing industry has influenced the marketplace to offer modest clothing to their clientle. There are many women who will not search specifically for modest clothes. However, because the designers are creating lines of modest apparel, your neighbors are finding and purchasing longer dresses and shirts with higher necklines.

Every time you purchase your clothes from distributors who are committed to modest apparel you are affecting an important change in the clothing industry as a whole. Don't feel guilty because it has become too easy to acquire a new modest dress, skirt, shirt or other item of clothing. Understand that you are influencing society with values that we all thought had long been lost. The entrepreneurs who are using the free enterprise system to distribute modest clothing are providing a great service to our communities, but these people could not do what they are doing without the modest women who are purchasing the clothing being offered by the modest clothing distributors.
