THE MAN NOAH

by OLU MIKE OMOASEGUN
10/25/2008 / Church Life

The Man Noah: - The Hebrew name for the word Noah means "rest' or "comfort". He was the son of Lamech and grandson of Methuselah (the oldest man that ever lived). Noah was also tenth generation from Adam in the line of Seth (Gen. 5:28-29). He receive the name because his father lamech saw comfort or rest coming through Him, God comfort the race and partially alleviate the effects of the edenic curse. Noah was the second father of the human race after the flood. (Beside Adam). The names of three sons were Shem, Ham, and Japhet. Although imperfection was manifestation after the ugly incident and situation he found himself after the flood, yet, he was adjudged the most righteous (to certain degree) in his own time.

GODLY QUALITIES OF THE MAN NOAH:-

= He was uniquely right Gen. 6:9.
Righteous is one of the distinguishable elements of godly that expected from every child of God.

= He was obedient Heb. 11:7. He obeyed God's
Instruction to build an ark for himself, household and other specified living creature Gen. 6:14-16. One of the evil tools to deprive some loving children of God, their God-ordained rights today is the implantation of disobedient spirit into them Isaiah 1:19-20.
= He was blameless Gen. 6:9. Blamelessness means without fault, innocency, etc. Compare his lifestyle with that of Zachariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:6). This is the kind of lifestyle expect of Christian 1Tim. 3:2, 10; Titus 1:6-7.

= Noah walk with God Gen 6:9. That is he was in close fellowship with God. Any that wishes to walk with God must be ready to live in conformity with his standard, His will, though they may seen unpalatable to his flashly desires, tastes, appetites or interest.
= He was a 'preacher of righteousness' 1Pet. 2:5.
While in the spirit of long suffering waited for men to repent, Noah had the opportunity besides constructing the ark to warn men of the coming catastrophe. We need such youth in our Church, not those that preaches what negates their own lifestyle James 2:12, Matt. 23:1-4.
= He was a model to his household. His family took after him. You must be a model that is worthy of emulation in the society and the Church. Let your light so shine.
= He was a man of faith Heb. 1:17. He exhibited a living unswerving faith with God for as long as 120yrs before the flood. Most Christian that held to the living faith unto God with the earnest expectation of Christ's second coming at the beginning of their Christian race, are now turning back to the world, when it seems to them that he may not come back afterall Matt. 25:1-13.

CONCLUSION:
God is holy, so he expects nothing short of 100% holiness from his children. We must therefore strive as the bride of Christ to separate ourselves from and fight against any act that is capable of defiling us. It is only the holy Christian that will see God Heb. 12:14.
God bless his Church and may we be rapturable in Jesus name, Amen.
