All my readers who know anything at all about me know I am an animal lover and have a cat, just a regular cat, I call Jewely.
When I first got Jewely she was as independent as cats can be. She never changed. I thought she was afraid of my wheelchair but I couldn't do anything about that.
I had a six room house so there were ample places for her to hide, and she knew I couldn't pick her up. She never was in my lap, but I like a cuddly cat. However, when I got a cuddly kitten Jewely was so jealous I was afraid she would hurt the kitten so I returned it.
The only person she was close to was James. When he would come in from work he would sit in John's chair. It wasn't long before Jewely knew James would pet her so she could mostly be found lying beside him in the big chair.
Then when Linda invited me to Alabama with her and her and her family, and I accepted, I thought I would have to find another home for Jewely because Linda and her family were dog people. Linda assured me, however, the
invitation included my cat.
On the move Jewely was sedated in a traveling kennel but before we were even out of Florida the sedation started to wear off so we stopped at a vet's office where Linda's daughter-in-law worked. While there the vet inquired of Jewely's eating habits. [Readers with cats pay attention], He told us she was so independent because I fed her once daaiily so she knew she didn't have to depend on me for food, and likewise her litter box was always kept clean.
Since we have been in Alabama Linda feeds her in the evening, not so much that she can't eat it all, and a more loving cat you can't imagine. Of course Thumper, Linda's Dachshund, and Jewely have a typical love-hate relationship, but Jewely doesn't hiss at her as much.
She often sits in my lap when I'm at the computer. When I sit in my recliner to rest in the afternoon Linda most often puts my Xango throw over my legs and that's where Jewely takes a nap unless the telephone rings and she is gone like a shot.
Remember, God loves you and so do I.
