The Peacemaker, Jesus!

If there was one person in this world, whom Mei Mei hated with a passion, it was her father. The thirty years old man had abused her since she was a kid, sexually molesting her whenever he was drunk with alcohol. Her mother would try to stop him, and got beaten up in the process. The mother and daughter lived in dread of the violent man for a long, long time. So, the moment Mei Mei reached adulthood, she moved out of his house with her mother. They would rather stay elsewhere than with him.

Recently, Mei Mei heard from a relative that her father had become homeless, after he sold off his house to pay for his alcohol addiction. He wandered the street, begging for a living. Mei Mei could not be more glad.

Bring your father home with you. The Lord spoke into her heart during her quiet time with him one day. 

Him, my Lord! Never! Anyone but him.

Mei Mei found it hard to obey the Lord. She hated her father, she wanted nothing to do with him. If possible, she even wanted him to suffer, for what he had made both her mother and her go through.

I die for him, as much as for you.

The Lord refused to stop prompting Mei Mei to forgive her father and bring him home. Mei Mei could find no peace during her quiet time. Finally, she decided to give in to her lord. She went to the park where her father was sleeping in, and brought him home.

For the Lord’s sake, she would forgive the most undeserving man on earth. Jesus restored peace to a man who did not deserve it, and reconciled Mei Mei with her father. He was the ultimate peacemaker.
