SOUL DANCE (excerpt): In the Day When I Cried He Answered Me

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. - Psalm 138:3, KJV

Like any good parent, our Father God (He is our Father once we have truly repented of our sin, and asked His Son, Jesus Christ the LORD, to cleanse us with His blood shed on the cross, and come into our lives and be our Savior and LORD!) hears and answers the earnest cry of our hearts.

Hallelujah!

The LORD God, the Creator and Sustainer of Heaven and earth and all life and creation, is not distant or angry with us, but ever near, and eager to communicate with us! Hallelujah!

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.--Isaiah 65:24, KJV

He knows our hearts, and every word on our tongues before we speak it. So, He hears our hearts as they cry to Him, even when we don't speak out loud.

Praise the LORD! He is so good, so near, so dear, and we are so dear to Him!

When we cry to the LORD, He will strengthen our souls (mind/will/emotions).

As King David wrote in Psalm 23:3, the LORD restores our souls.

He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. - Psalm 23:2-3, KJV

To me, this means He first helps us trust to rest and find quiet time with Him, so that we can experience His nearness, His comfort more noticeably. (This must be cultivated on purpose, especially in this busy, noisy world! But it is so worth it!)

The LORD our Father soothes and assuages and calms us, as we parents or teachers comfort a hurting child.

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. - I John 3:1, KJV

Our Prince of Peace reminds us that He has overcome the world; there is nothing and no one more all-knowing nor more powerful than Him! Hallelujah!

‘Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, whom you now fear [as if he were deity]; do not be afraid of him,' says the LORD, ‘for [he is a mere man, but I am the living, omniscient God and] I am with you [always] to protect you and to deliver you from his hand.. - Jer. 42:11, KJV

So when your soul is weary (and a fave tactic of the enemy is to pressure us and get us busy, and try to wear us out, and make us think we don't have time for God--Who is our Life!

And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. - Col. 3:4, NLT

We can come to the Father, and pour out our hearts (He knows it all anyway! It just helps us to get it out, and ask His forgiveness, and forgive others and even ourselves as needed!), and ask Him to give us the comfort and peace He already wants to give. Hallelujah!

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. - John 16:33, KJV

Let the LORD--the Covenant God, Who is all good, and Who never changes, and Who loves you beyond compare--give you rest. Cry to Him, and He will answer you!
