He Leads You to Good Things, Especially When You Let Him!

The lot is cast into the lap, but the decision is wholly of the Lord [even the events that seem accidental are really ordered by Him]. - Proverbs 16:33, AMPC
One of the names of the LORD is The Good Shepherd. Not only do true shepherds protect their flocks from danger, but they lead them to the best and safest places to be!
A minister I know has a friend who is a shepherdess, who related that, one day, she intended to lead her small flock of beloved sheep to a new area abounding with acorns. She knew the sheep would love them.
However, as she led the sheep that direction, they suddenly decided to go another way--and completely missed the acorns!
They missed out, because they went their own way.
Oh, how often have I done that--sometimes knowingly, sometimes not.
And all that our LORD Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd--Who gave Himself to die for us on the cross over 2,000 years ago, by shedding His pure blood to pay for all our sins, so we could spend Eternity in Heaven with Him!--wanted to do was to bless me!
Yes, by His Help and Grace, I have obeyed several times, knowing the journey would be challenging, and I have been greatly rewarded. Other times, I have been too weary or unbelieving to make the effort, not even really knowing the depth of what I have missed--nor the lives that would have been changed for His Kingdom, had I obeyed (which is the reason we true Believers are on the planet; to help others know Him!).
However, God is not only the Good Shepherd, He is good. All good. Only good. Forever good! There is no darkness, no untruth, no falsehood, no double-mindedness, no guile, in Him.
God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all!
Jesus Christ our Savior and LORD is the Good Shepherd!
Hallelujah! I'm getting excited about how good God is, all over again!
When we look at our lives, we can realize--as the LORD has taught my husband and I to do the past few years--that billions of people would love to live our very blessed lives every day! We all have so much to be thankful for!
The Good Shepherd leads us in right paths--to good things, and away from danger. Of course, we can choose to override His leading, like the sheep did, when they missed out on the fresh supply of acorns.
In Psalm 23, King David shares specifics of the Good Shepherd's care.
Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd, never changes!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. - Hebrews 13:8, NKJV
The LORD has graciously helped me through the years to ask Him when I wake to help me be very sensitive and obedient to His Spirit. He does. However, part of that is daily Bible reading; prayer; regular attendance and involvement in a Bible-believing church; making corrections as He leads; worship; and more.
It all works together, and when we really want to hear Him and go His way, He will make sure that we understand His leading. He is so good that not only is it His Spirit that draws us and gives us the desire to obey, to go His way, but then His Spirit helps us obey--and then He rewards us for obeying!
Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! - Psalm 31:19, NKJV
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. - Isaiah 55:2b, NKJV
...for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. - Phil. 2:13, NKJV
Wow! Oh how great and good is our truly awesome God! Anyone who blames or hates or mocks Him has no idea how good He is; how it is Him Who has given them breath--and kept them breathing, and given them every good thing!
The Good Shepherd is The One Who led you to this website! Thank Him for leading you in right paths, and ask Him to help you follow Him even more.
Christ Jesus the LORD, our Good Shepherd, is forever a Gentleman. He is a Leader, not one who pressures or drives others. He is always thinking of how He can help you and others, and that is why He came and died the most horrible death and became the curse--so you and I could live a wonderful, abundant, free life, and become the Righteousness of God in Him!
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Cor. 5:21, NKJV
Hallelujah!
He is gentle and cares about your deepest need. He loves you more than you can understand with your mind. He sees the real you, and knows exactly what you need and want, because He created you in your mother's womb.
King Jesus is returning very soon, to gather all of us who truly know and follow Him, and take us to Eternity with Him, in Paradise! Hallelujah!
Won't you let Him lead you ever closer to Him today? Just ask, and then listen, watch, and (He will help you) obey! Your life will continue to be better than you could ever dream!
