THE UNIQUENESS OF THE JEWS
by linzy bruno
12/07/2023 / Bible Studies
“God is no respecter of persons.” See Acts 10:34 below. He does not have favorites. Believers in Jesus are one in HIM. See Galatians 3:28 below. However, without contradiction, the Bible also declares the uniqueness of the Jews; a special people before God. There are several compelling reasons for this indisputable fact.
First and foremost, in order to bring salvation to the world, God created and established a people in which to bring forth the Messiah, therefore, Jesus is a Jew. This fact alone should tell us that the Jews are not more loved, but special and unique as a people group. This is why the Apostle Paul declared that salvation comes first to the Jews, then to the Greeks. See Romans 1:16 below. Christianity has come through the Jews. They are the most unique and special of all people groups because of these things, as well as a few other relatable factors. See Zechariah 2:7-8 & Deuteronomy 32:9-10 below.
And inasmuch as the Jews are God’s chosen people, they are the only people to believe in the One True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, even in their unsaved/pre-saved condition. This is largely due to the fact that their ancestors had personal contact with the Father and even heard His Voice, saw His miracles first hand and were led by His Spirit through the wilderness. Not to mention the stories they have told their descendants down through their generations.
Of course, they turned away repeatedly in worship of idols, but when the Jews say the name of God, they have returned to the One True God. They know God, yet are not saved. This fact further illustrates their uniqueness.
And God will save His Remnant; those who finally accept and admit what God has for them since the beginning of time, that Jesus Christ IS their Messiah! They cannot help but know who God is; they have been taught down through their generations, they have proclaimed this Truth to their descendants.
The Jews may just be the only people that are immune as to the confusion that plagues most of the world as to who God is. And once they accept Christ Jesus as their Savior, they become Christian Jews; fully transformed into the people God intended them to be.
WHY the Jews are a Unique and Special People
1). God created and established them as the people in which to bring forth the Messiah. They are in His Lineage; His Bloodline!
2). Their forefathers knew Him personally! They heard His Voice, hence, they are the only people that are able to know Him, even through the confusion over the identity of their Messiah!
3). They are the only people that God has brought back to establish and then reestablish their nation. The first time was around the year 1400 BC and the second in 1947-48.
4). Even with all this, they are also unique in that they are the most hated, persecuted and targeted people in all of history. This is because Satan hates them over jealousy of God’s Love for them and knows if He can eliminate them God will not be able to fulfill His Promise to them, and ultimately, the world.
5). Of all people groups, they are the only ones who have battled divisive confusion over who their Messiah really is.
6). They are the only ones who have been working to rebuild a temple unto God and have had nothing but resistance in this quest, due to fighting over who is the rightful owner and proper inhabitant of the temple.
7). Christianity, the only true ‘religion,’ has come through the Jews! In fact, the way we feel about the Jews present a sort of built-in test, for if we love Jesus, we will love the Jews. See Genesis 12:3 below.
“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:” (Acts 10:34)
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
“Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” (Zechariah 2:7-8)
“For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.” (Deuteronomy 32:9-10)
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
