Grief May Be Causing Your Griping

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.--Psalm 147:3, KJV
If you find yourself unthankful, griping, and/or critical, it may be because you have grief, brought about by many disappointments. The LORD can heal your broken heart, and bind up your wounds (Psalm 147:3).
Ask me how I know!
After spending decades being, far too often, unthankful, judgmental, critical, and otherwise carnal (even as a true Believer), the LORD has patiently continued to strip off the junk from my life; lead me to recognize the junk and repent; be more sensitive to His Spirit (Who gently convicts me about such); focus more on Him than myself and others, which includes spending more time speaking His Word, praying, and worshiping; and work to encourage and build others up.
He revealed to me that, often, the root of people griping and being unthankful and critical can be caused by disappointment which, if not caught and given to the LORD for healing, can fester in the heart and soul of people, and cause roots of bitterness. Bitterness pollutes lives, and can cause us to focus only or primarily (as a default) on the negative; kind of a self-protective thing of a lack of trust, a lack of positive expectations;
Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.--Hebrews 12:15, NLT
Bitterness can also spawn other negative emotions. Most people don't recognize bitterness, but even if they do, they don't know how to get rid of it, as the LORD commands us.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.--Ephesians 4:31, NLT
God can shorten the process of having wrong roots such as bitterness exposed to us, severed from our souls, and the holes remaining filled with right things. He can and will do it, if you ask Him to help you. He is a Gentleman, and never forces His will on anyone, but His will is always the very best for us, because He loves us so much, He died the most excruciating death possible, on the cross for us, over 2,000 years ago, by shedding His pure blood to pay for our sins--so we can be with Him forever! Hallelujah!
For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly.– Romans 5:6, KJV
The LORD is so good to help us! He loves us, and another way to replace the wicked bitterness with righteous thoughts, words, and actions, is to be thankful.
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.--I Thessalonians 5:18, NLT
There are so many things to be thankful about! Every good thing in our lives comes from the Father God, from Whom comes every blessing!
My husband and I have kept a Thanksgiving Journal, in which we write often. Every day, there are so many things to be thankful for! When we are thankful, that brings God glory. It helps us follow God’s command to set our minds on things above.
The LORD tells us to approach Him with thankfulness.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.—Psalm 100:4, KJV
Being thankful is very important to God, and to most of us. When we are thankful, we are positive, and God is magnified and glorified. Being thankful can energize us. When we are thankful, it is a form of faith speaking, for our spirits—the real, eternal part of us—know that every good thing comes from God, the Creator, Elohim!
When we are thankful, we are more conscious of God’s goodness, which flows from His Love for us. God is Love (I John 4:8)! When we are thankful, we are more confident.
But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.--I Thessalonians 5:8, NLT
You may not be suffering from grief that has caused bitterness in your life—or you may not be aware of it (like I was not, for years, until the LORD revealed to me what the root of my negative behavior was! Actually, it was not just a root, it was a root system! Ugh! Praise the LORD, He sees the end from the beginning, and is very patient and loving in working with us to expose the wrongs and help us be free of them, and then replace the wrongs with the right thinking and behavior, which is proof that Jesus is alive, through His Holy Spirit living in us (when we have received Christ Jesus as our Savior and LORD, by believing in what His pure blood shed on the cross over 2,000 years ago did for us, to provide the way for us to be forgiven and cleansed of our sins. Hallelujah!)).
There is always another level we can attain, to become more like Christ—but only by the help and wisdom of the Holy Sprit, Who always works in unity with His Word.
Ask the LORD to reveal to you first, His Love for you even more; to help you be more conscious of is, even in the little things of live; and second, to show you what needs to be changed in your life, so you can enjoy His wonderful Presence even more deeply, and help others desire to do so.
He will hear, and He will answer, every sincere prayer. He is faithful forever!
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.-- , KJV
