An Evil Beast

"An evil beast has devoured him. Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces". Genesis 37, King James Version.
The above are the words of Jacob, renamed Israel. This was his response to the report of what might have happened to his beloved son, Joseph, whom he sent on an errand to go and check the welfare of his ten brothers and the animals under their hands.
They conspired to sell him and they did. He was sold for twenty pieces of silver. They brought his clothes of many colors prepared for him by his father, Jacob, for identification purposes. This cloth has been soaked in the blood of an animal that was killed for that purpose.
On their arrival at home, they asked their father whether or not it was Joseph's clothes. This was the root cause of the opening statement of this piece. He held to those words for thirteen years. The words are: "An evil beast has devoured him. Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces". Genesis 37, King James Version.
Is this true? Looking at the physical aspect of the matter, it is not true because Joseph was actively alive in slavery in the land of Egypt.
Looking at the same event from another perspective, Jacob's observations and conclusions are correct. Jacob thought and believed it was an Evil Beast that wreaked havoc on his son, Joseph.
An Evil Beast.
The Evil Beast's name is Conspiracy to Destroy. Joseph's brethren are the habitation of the evil beast. The activities of the Evil Beast are:
Rendering in pieces. Joseph's brethren in the actual sense of the word tore his heart into pieces. They not only wounded his heart, they rendered his heart in pieces. He almost became hopeless. If not for the Lord who was with him, he would have died of sadness, loneliness, and hopelessness. They succeeded in doing this to Joseph as observed by their father, Jacob.
Do you know that Joseph's brethren confirmed this? Upon their arrival in Egypt to buy food for their household from Joseph, although unknown to them, they argued among themselves thus,
"42:21 And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us.
42:22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required." Genesis.
Note these words that show that they tore him in pieces, "we saw the anguish of his soul when he brought us...". The anguish of the soul is an expressway to kill a man if it continues unceasingly.
Devoured. Another description of what happened to Joseph according to Jacob's account is that he has been devoured. Is this not true? Joseph's brethren sold him into slavery for twenty pieces of silver. What did they do to that money? They devoured his sales proceeds, twenty pieces of silver, vs 28-33. Do you know that they devoured Joseph, although not out of existence?
The words of Rachel and Leah confirm that it is possible to devour without wiping a person out of existence. Both said to Jacob about their father, Laban, on the verge of departure from serving him, Laban:
"31:14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?
31:15 Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money. Genesis" King James Version, KJV.
That was the plight of these sisters from their father. You may also have the same experience as your brethren. It is not new.
Beloved, are you a victim of brethren who are possessed by the spirit of conspiracy? The Lord who was with Joseph will be with you and see you through.
My beloved reader, do not become part of those who are possessed by the spirit of the Beast, that tore Joseph into pieces and devoured his purchase price, that is the spirit of conspiracy. There is a penalty at the end of the day, here on the Earth and there in Eternity, if you do not repent. It will be to your advantage to repent if you are already involved in one way or another. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord. Shalom.
