False Brethren.
by Olawale Ogunsola
8/26/2023 / Christian Apologetics
In the journey of the Christian faith, there are various experiences, the good, the bad, and the ugly. There are negative experiences from expected and unexpected quarters. Apostle Paul gave a catalog of some of his own thus,
"In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;" 2 Corinthians 11:26.
All the perils are dangerous. What is appalling is the "perils among false brethren". False brethren are never brethren but pretend to be brethren. They are never born into the family of God. They are people who never tasted salvation but want to benefit from it and prevent the Saved from reaping the benefits of Salvation, as sons and daughters.
False brethren sneak into the assembly of God's people to access their liberty for their selfish interest and to deny the children of the Kingdom their full-fledged rights and privileges. They want to make slaves out of Kingdom candidates.
Apostle Paul reveals
"And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
2:5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you." Galatians 2:4, 5.
Beloved, no provision should be made for false brethren to carry out their nefarious activities too numerous to mention. Their actions are entirely against the Kingdom of God.
At the time of writing this piece, a work of false brethren was sent to me. What was it? It was captioned, "Why Christianity is mocked" The content is that a man "invited" Jesus Christ from "heaven" to minister in his "church". After ministration, members of the "church" took pictures with the "invited Jesus from heaven".
Can you see the extent to which false brethren can go? As much as possible, no provision should be made for them in the true assembly of God's people. Saints should watch for them to obstruct them and their activities. False brethren are never brethren because they work against the interest of the people and the Kingdom of God. Avoid them and don't listen to them.
This is the end period, it is a perilous one. Elects need to be closer to the Holy Bible and obey the Holy Spirit. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
