IT'S ALL ABOUT BUNNIES AND EASTER EGGS

Thought: Has anyone noticed in your shopping that rarely do you see any reference to the spiritual meaning of Easter? It’s all about bunnies and Easter eggs.

Satan has done a very good job in overshadowing the true meaning of the importance of this holiday. Christmas, with Santa, and a frenzy of gift buying and Easter with eggs and bunnies. Many people do not realize that none of these things can offer what Jesus offers, forgiveness of sins and eternal life in heaven. He not only suffered humiliation and horrific physical abuse but rejection from those who were with him for over three years of his ministry. They heard him speak, they saw many miracles he performed but it was not enough for them to stand by him in his time of need.

In His human form they did not recognize him as Jehovah from ages past. Yahweh or Jehovah, interacted with the prophets, military leaders, and kings throughout the first covenant. At one point during one of Joshua’s battles he held the sun and moon back from it’s normal cycle. He parted the water at the red sea and Jordan river for the Israelites to cross over on dry land. He was at the forefront of every battle that was fought and won. He gave us the moral laws for us to live by.

In the second covenant he put on the form of man, Phill. 2:5-8 “Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, who though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God, but laid aside His mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. And he humbled himself even further going so far as actually to die a criminal’s death on the cross.”

Rising on the third day he conquered death that Satan had brought into the world by our first parents’ disobedience. He now offers forgiveness and eternal life for all who believe in who he is and what he has accomplished on the cross. How can this precious free gift be replaced by Santa, bunnies, and eggs? Could this be the reason our world is in such upheaval because they have left God out of the picture and replaced him with themselves choosing the broad road that leads to destruction? Is losing our own soul to these paganistic idols worth it? If you have not invited Christ into your life, do it today, now is the day of Salvation.

John 21:25 tells us “And I suppose that if all the other events in Jesus life were written, the whole world could hardly contain the books!”

Prayer: Heavenly Father what a priceless gift you offer mankind. Jesus took all their sins and mine on that cross and paid the price we should have paid. He offers restoration, forgiveness, and eternal life to whom, by faith will invite him into their life. Amen

Verse: John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.”
