Is Restituition Necessary After Repentance?

When the Jews saw the healing miracle performed in the life of the man born lame in Acts chapter three, they made an important request from Apostle Peter, what was the right step to take. The man of God replied, "[19]Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away." Acts 3.

Repentance marks the commencement of a lifetime journey with God. Repentance makes what was a fancy become highly detestable to the repentant person. It is a mark of reconciliation to the source of mankind. This, if done wholeheartedly, heralds a time of refreshment from God. This is because the territory has changed. Comfort and joy has commenced without an end. Let it be noted that repentance is the starting point of an everlasting journey. To have a successful journey, many things are involved.

By the time you embark on this journey, penalty for your sins have been paid. You are not going to be answerable to them; do you know that you are free indeed because the Son of God has made you free? This holds forever.

This is where needless controversy comes in. If you are truly born again, it is essential to have the permanent Comforter, the Holy Spirit, with you on the journey. As you rejoice in your new birth experience, if the Holy Spirit reminds you of someone else's property which is in your possession by wounding his heart in any form, is it not necessary that you return the property to him to free yourself from any guilt? Should his wounded heart not be healed?

Note that the Accuser of the Brethren goes up and down looking for an opportunity to obstruct and derail the newly commenced journey. He is not against starting the journey but he will be against its successful completion. Should not every obstacle be removed from the way? This is what restitution does. Will you be happy living with an item you stole some years ago? Or an item you got fraudulently from your place of work? It is giving the devil an opportunity or power to rule over you. Jesus says,
"[30]“I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me,
[31]but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let’s be going." John 14.
Is it not necessary to do what the Lord wants you to do? Should not the world knows that you love your Heavenly Father by demonstrating your new faith?

How will you be comfortable with it, any strange object or property?

Not only that, do you want to live on with the curses placed on the fellow who stole it in the first instance? When Satan comes, should he find anything with which he can accuse you to afflict you?

Do you know that restitution is not restricted to things of others?

Let me briefly refer to the matter of a sister who got converted many years ago by the hand of a great man of God.

After she gave her life to Jesus Christ, she came back to the man of God, a few months later with a complaint, what was it? She disclosed that she wanted to set her indecent attires ablaze because wearing them doesn't depict her new life in Christ. According to her, she could not afford to give out what she could not put on, she saw that as a sin. These were the clothes that used to make her happy. She later saw them as items to dispose properly.

The man of God was not interested in looking for a Bible verse to confuse her or a verse to twist to encourage her to put on old sinful attires to her destruction.
Apostle Peter has this to say of certain people of God on the writings of Apostle Paul,
"[16]speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction." 2 Peter 3.

Let it be reiterated here that both doctrines were observed very late by the son of perdition who followed Jesus Christ but had not Jesus in his heart.
Yes! Judas Ischariot, a son of REPENTED and RESTITUTED, although both were carried out late. Why can't the two be employed when they have value? The two doctrines are for the value and benefits of mankind.
