You Are An Answer (3)

It is sure that the network of God never fails. This is because He is firmly in control of everything in Heaven and Earth. As pointed out in part one of these series, God appreciates the value of an answer. That is the reason He declares in Hose 2:21,
"[21]“In that day, I will answer,”
    says the lord.
“I will answer the sky as it pleads for clouds.
    And the sky will answer the earth with rain.
[22]Then the earth will answer the thirsty cries
    of the grain, the grapevines, and the olive trees.
And they in turn will answer,
    ‘Jezreel’—‘God plants!’
As can be seen in the verses, one answers leads to another in fulfilling the plans of God. Each answer provides an answer for another answer. The network continues until the desired results emerged.

Devout reader, do you know that if you pray and your prayers are answered, you are answered so that you will become an answer to someone else's request or prayer. You are answered not to become selfish but to affect and influence the lives of others you are designed to for better understanding. If you are happy that your prayers were answered, then let others glorify God through you as you meet another person's request or needs.

Can this be further proved in the Scriptures? Yes!
Let us consider this story of Prophet Elijah in first Kings chapter seventeen. This man of God locked the door of heaven to prevent rain from falling and kept the keys to himself.

After this, he was instructed thus, [3]“Go to the east and hide by Kerith Brook, near where it enters the Jordan River.
[4]Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them to bring you food.” 1 Kungs 17.

He obeyed. From this experience, no one benefited. It was only Elijah who was fed. Soon, the source of his water which he drank dried.

Another instructions came to him saying,
"[9]“Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you.” 1 Kings.

Another answer there. The Lord who made a bird an answer to Elijah's prayer for provision also raised a widow to be another answer to the Prophet's prayer or needs at a different time. The man of God obeyed.

Do you know the status of the answer to the man's prayer or desire? She describes her condition as at that time thus,
"[12]But she said, “I swear by the lord your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.”
[13]But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son." 1 Kings 17.

Can you now discern a method of God's operation? Someone who lacks was instructed to feed another person who is a stranger, having nothing. All things being equal, this ought not to be so, by human calculation or observation. Here, it is God Who wanted to demonstrate His power and greatness.

The man made his demands known to the widow; and she did not fail to reveal her secrets to someone who could be an answer to her prayer. Beloved, will you agree with me that each of these two persons had enough? Do I sound self contradictory? Wait a little!

One, both had the Lord their God as their source of provision. They believed in and relied on Him for everything. That was why the connection took place.

Two, the man of God had the Word of God in his mouth which is the truth. His God honored whatever he said because it came to pass. He is blessed with powerful Word that can multiply.

Three, the woman had a little thing which could be multipled. She had a little flour, oil and water. She also had the giving Spirit because she chose to prepare food for the Prophet before she prepared for herself and her lone son. Do not forget that she did this as an obedient servant. This helped her and her family members.

What was the final outcome? The Holy Scriptures disclose:
"[15]So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days.
[16]There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the lord had promised through Elijah." 1 King's 17.

The widow was an answer to the desire of Elijah to be fed in time of famine. The Man of God also became an answer to the widow's prayer to survive the famine. The Lord needs us to be answers to each other's prayer requests or desires. May the Lord help you to be an answer to people's prayers in Jesus mighty name. Go and be an answer!
