Leadership Abilities.

"Who are you?"
This three words question is very important especially for anyone who aspires or hope to aspire to become a leader now or in the future.
It will be foolhardy to be a stranger to yourself because it will lead to serious reproach and public embarrassment.
It is very important to know who you are very well. If you know yourself very well, you will be able to define yourself for others who may want to know you passionately. If you don't know yourself, what will you tell others willing to know you very well?
This was the case with John the Baptist. The Jews sent religious leaders to him for proper definitions of who he was. They asked him, "Who art thou?" John 1:19c. When he started to tell them who he was not, they insisted that they were not interested in who he was not but in who he was.
When he was delaying to declare who he was, the Priests and the Levites, religious leaders, who were sent to him tried to help him to define him. They said, "What then? Art thou Elias?... Art thou that Prophet?" verse 21. His reply was, "No. I am not", verse 21.
People insisted, "Who art thou?that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of yourself?" John1:22.
It was then he gave a direct answer saying, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord." John1:23.
This simple declaration was not an after thought. He knew who he was and the purpose of his coming into the world. In a simple language,"To fulfill a prophecy." This prophecy is contained in the book of Isaiah 40:3.
The people even wanted to know his scope of work that was the reason for questioning his right to baptise people when he was not Christ. Because he knew who he was and the purpose of his existence, he explained the scope of his work thus,
"I baptise with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me...the same is he which baptiseth with the Holy Spirit." John 1:26,33f.
My beloved reader, what do you think will happen to John the Baptist on that day if he were a stranger to himself and his destiny? It is sad that people are many who are strangers to themselves and know nothing about their assignments here on earth. They cannot stand up for something, so they fall for anything. This has ld many people into running another person's race, doing other people's work and living a life not theirs.
It is a waste of destiny!
As a result of this, beloved, try as much as possible to know yourself inside out. Then and only then will you not live another person's life.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
