GRADUATION FROM THE WORLD

by linzy bruno
7/04/2022 / Bible Studies

A wise Biblical Theologian once said, “This is our training ground for our careers in Heaven.”

This sentiment certainly rings true, and if so that means that when we leave this world, whether through natural means or the Rapture, that provided we lived in Christ and for Christ, that monumental moment of passage is like both a spiritual and a physical graduation.

The Bible does describe our bodies as spiritual in Heaven; we will be supernatural and have a supernatural body like our Lord Jesus…(John 20:27, 1Corinthians 15:42-58 & 1John 3:2).

It’s an intriguing concept to consider this life as our training ground. It makes so much sense that God would design our lives that way; not ordaining that we seek to exalt the self in this earthly life, but then raising our station when Heaven becomes our abode and using the gifts that He put in us to serve Him.

Perhaps, while we are here, God uses our interests and talents to put us in a fitting arena for those skills and abilities to be put to great use, not only for this life, but for the life-after. Providing we are in tune to His Voice.

But this idea does raise a few questions. Like how does God deal with those whom He has chosen for a certain career in Heaven, but they have not done anything to perfect those needed skills while in the body? Will God just give them the ability anyway or does graduation from the world insist on the skills being in place, like a prerequisite?

What about those things that we yearn for that never come to pass here on earth. We know that God will have pleasures and blessings for us that we cannot even imagine right now, so it’s fun to wonder if certain yearnings will come to fruition in the afterlife.

I like to imagine the Millennial Kingdom. I’m quite convinced that we will NOT have cars to use as transportation or any other man-made system for travel for that matter, but that’s one thing we can be assured of: man’s ways and means are of the earth and for earth and are not applicable in Heaven!

So, perhaps when people need to go somewhere, certain saints will be assigned to pick people up in a chariot and escort them to their destinations. Or perhaps since we the saints will be able to use our minds to transport ourselves, we will just hold hands with that person and take them along to wherever God orders. Or maybe some of the saints will have the job of preparing the meals and the table of God, or that of the citizens.

I just can’t help but wonder. Will there be parties and other gatherings in Heaven? Will people still be able to choose between casual clothing and dress attire? Will they still have stores in which to purchase……no, that’s too worldly of a thing! Maybe certain saints will have the job of making clothes for people (?)

So is it true that we will take our natural talents into eternity, to dwell in the Lord’s Abode and serve Him and/or mankind forevermore using those God-given talents and abilities?!

No one can say for certain, but I can hardly wait to find out!

1000 Year Millennium Kingdom - Comes After the Tribulation (bible-knowledge.com)

Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.” (1Thessalonians 3:11-13)

But is sainthood for the Jews exclusively?.....Romans 1:7 reveals the fact that the Gentiles are included with the Jews as the saints of God.

To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

And is there any hint of our said career in Scripture?.....

And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’” (Luke 19:17)
