Most Christians have been taught to pray and ask God to give them everything they need without even trying to be obedient to what the bible teaches. The bible says you have been saved by grace not by works. This is true because your own good works can never save you from the wrath of God. The sins that you have committed according to the bible’s definition is not the same as what general humans think. Here are a few examples:
- Not believing in God is a sin
- Doing self-righteous good works is a sin
- Not saying the truth is sin
- Making an unjust comment about someone is sin
- Teaching a false doctrine is a sin
- Not forgiving others is a sin
- Not helping others when you can, is a sin
- Speaking worthless words is a sin
- Claiming God speaks when he didn’t is a sin
- Making a vow to God and not keeping it is a sin
- Committing adultery is a sin
These sins as written in the bible are not the same as obeying the law of the land. In some countries religious harmony is a law, but in the bible, it teaches us not to have anything to do with idol worshippers. It didn’t say we are to war against them, but it says we are not to partake with them in idol worshipping which God hates. Thus, obeying the law of the land does not make you a good Christian, only obeying the bible is the right way of a true disciple of Christ. The bible tells us to obey all authorities until the authorities set up a law that is against the law of God. It is shown how we are to handle that in the book of Daniel; on the lion’s den.
Romans 13:1-2 New International Version
Submission to Governing Authorities
13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
James 1:22-25 New International Version
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Acts 5:29 New King James Version
29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.
The bible didn’t just say to pray and ask God, it also says to listen and to obey by doing what it says. Yet many Christians will only hear what they want to hear and not hear the full truth. It goes to show that you need to read everything in the bible to get the complete truth in it; so that you’ll not be deceived by false teachings. Therefore, many have no overcoming living. They lack the true power of being a Christian because they don’t do what the bible teaches. They engage in lazy Christianity by just praying, thinking that God will do everything for them. If you want that job apply for it and pray after you have applied. And if you want God to bless you in your investment, pray ask God which stock to invest, then invest and pray for blessings. That’s how the bible works. Please don’t sit at home and pray someone will give you money. God only gives his ministers or preachers offerings because they don’t work for a living, they serve God and that’s why God has to feed them this way. God said the workers (those who preach the word of God) deserves their wages. But if you are not serving God, you need to go work for your own food. Only when you cannot work due to some physical issues, then God will send you some money.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 New King James Version
10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
All sinners will be dealt by God on the day of judgement. I need to mention sin because it has to do with who dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91 says,
Psalm 91:1-6 New International Version
Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
This is a very beautiful blessings, it’s a fantastic one that every Christian wants to have. But you cannot obtain it by just praying for it day and night. You also can’t name and claim this one. And most assuredly you can chant it every day by repetition; so that somehow it will miraculously fall upon you like some magic potion. No that can never happen, because God said not to worship him like the pagans do, one very famous religion use chanting to gain their powers. Doing so will incur the wrath of God. I call it Charismatic Witchcraft. One main core theme of this charismatic witchcraft is the need to exercise power in the name of Jesus so that whatever they desire, they think that they can manifest it into existence by using their favourite Word of Faith. No Word of Faith can ever get you what you want; if its not the Word of God for that situation. Your Word of Faith simply is a word not in season, so it will most assuredly fall to the ground and return void. Only the Word of God in season will manifest the purpose for which it was sent. And how do you get a Word of God in season? You got to hear the voice of God. If you can’t hear from God then you have no choice but to apply the counterfeit Word of faith from your own understanding and expecting God to move. That makes God your servant. Ministers who used their Word of Faith are most assuredly using their own power to bless you, and we all know that human blessings can’t move a piece of feather let alone move mountains and heal you. Without the explicit permission or authority of Jesus, no one can do anything at all. Jesus didn’t die to give you all his powers and authority without his guidance. A recruit will never suddenly have the power of a General in the army on the day he joins the army. Never, because he is not equipped or trained to handle that kind of godly power. Moses was trained for 40 years; Joseph and David were trained for 14 years. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. The only thing that has changed is that we now have accessed into the kingdom of God by receiving the grace because of Jesus paying the price to redeem us from the curse of his excommunication.
John 15:5 New International Version
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
This Psalm 91 belongs only onto the person who dwells in the shelter of the Most High God by being in his shadow. The shelter of God is not a physical place. It’s a spiritual state of listening and obeying the voice of God. This is the wisdom that I got from meditating on this verse. By meditating, I don’t mean meditate like the yogi style. What I mean is to contemplate how to swell in his shadow, if its not a real physical place, what can it be?
It was represented in the story of Moses through a fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day. When it moves the Israelite moves when it stops the Israelites stopped. Its this obedience that gave them Psalm 91. Whenever the disobey God, this Psalm 91 was lifted and the enemy devours them. This Psalm 91 protect remains only when you obey God. And how to obey if you can’t hear the Voice of God? That’s the reason why so many deaf pastors got removed from their ministry by God due to Covid pandemic virus attack. They couldn’t hear the Voice of God, they assumed they had God’s Psalm 91 protection. They think that just because they were doing God’s work that the Psalm 91 is an auto-insurance against the virus. God says only those who dwell in his shelter gets protected.
Consequently, by interpreting the bible scripture wrongly; it can cause you your life. Psalm 91 was written by David because he was a man of war, and many arrows were flying all around him yet he was not harmed. And when he was running from King Saul under persecution, he was not harmed by his poor living conditions and diseases don’t harm him. Yet, he was the chosen man of God who lives under the truth of God’s word and he was also surrounded with God’s prophets who gave him the word of God. That’s how he dwells in the shelter of the Most High God. The bible tells us to rightly divide the word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 2:15 New King James Version
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
John 5:39-40 New International Version
39 You study[a] the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
Accepting Jesus don’t automatically make us the highly favoured and deeply loved Christians, if you still living your old life. You got to find Jesus and hear from him; else you can never have true life. You’ll never get the life that he promises until you hear from him. Jesus already told us that his sheep can and will hear his voice. The scripture (John 10:27) didn’t says, hear his sermon, or hear the message of Christ, it says; hear his voice. However, if you still can’t hear the voice of God, but assumes you have Psalm 91 protection then you must be the most ignorant Christian on earth. Yet worst, you might not have the Holy Spirit in you because you can’t discern the truth even when it is presented to you in broad daylight.
John 14:16-17 New King James Version
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Because those who have the Holy Spirit will be guided into all truths, since it is the Spirit of Truth. If you have this Truth Spirit then how come you can’t hear the truth? Don’t fake your eternity, find out what you have, else you might miss the very thing that you have been looking for; because someone told you a lie. The bible is the only truth besides the Holy Spirit that you have now been given to learn from God and Jesus. But walking in assumed faith is living a life of lie, and is the most dangerous way to live; that’s a life waiting to be shipwrecked. I am writing to you all in love and truth, so repent turn around and come to the burning bush of the wisdom of God.
