No Lo Importa!
by Tonja Taylor
12/19/2021 / Christian Living
"No lo importa" is Spanish for "It's not important." As we grow in Christ, we can use this phrase against the enemy and circumstances that used to upset us. We can choose to stay in peace and keep our minds on God; look beyond what we see to what truly matters!
Our dear Father God cares about every detail of our lives. He is a good, good Father Who loves us very much, and wants to help us with every part of life, to have success, peace, satisfaction, and joy.
There are many things in our lives that truly are not eternal and not important.
But how do we know? How do we distinguish what is truly important?
A good way to measures what is important is to see what is important to God. Walking in love and kindness and wisdom in our marriages, families, church families, workplaces, and in good stewardship of our bodies and finances are always the will of God.
Every day, we have many choices to make. As Believers who want to please Christ in every way, we need His wisdom. Reading and speaking the Word of God, prayer, and worship, are the most effective ways to understand God's will.
His Word is a living Word; alive and powerful, helping us tell the difference between the perfect will of His Spirit.
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.--Hebrews 4:12, AMPC
One of the main ways the LORD leads us is by peace. We may have initial excitement about something, but as I've proved to myself through the years, when we wait on the LORD in prayer, if something is not of Him, He will cause our peace to leave. The Holy Spirit of Truth within us (when we know Jesus as our Savior and LORD, of course) will reveal things to us that we need to know.
We may not understand everything; we may not know why we have "red flags," or an unsettledness in our hearts, when everything "looks" right on the outside.
The times (more than once, through the years!) that I pushed past--ignored--these red flags, and did something anyway, I regretted it. Sometimes it cost me a lot of time and money and emotional turmoil. If I had listened to the Holy Spirit--even though it did not make sense to my mind --I would have been spared all the junk.
Ask the LORD to show you what is muy importante--very important-- to Him. He knows all things, loves us and has only the best for us.
Also, the closer you get to Him, the more He will help you understand what is really important--eternal--and what is not. As you grow in grace and wisdom, through spending time with Him in His Word, church, worship, and prayer, you will become sharper in discerning what matters.
Then, when the enemy brings things to you that he wants you to think about (which is always a distraction from the LORD and His way)--something sad, disappointing, frustrating, ungodly, annoying, etc.--you can say to the defeated enemy, "No lo importa!"--"It's not important!"
You can immediately ask the LORD--as I do every morning and recommend that we all do as soon as we are awake in the mornings (or in the middle of the night, if awakened then!--to help you set your mind on things above.
You can declare that you have the Mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16)--life and soul peace; righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost; no fear, but power, and love, and a sound (disciplined, peaceful) mind.
Hallelujah!
The devil is a bully. He is a liar, and the father of lies. He is defeated by the Blood of the Lamb, the LORD Jesus Christ, Who is the Truth! Hallelujah!
So, ask the LORD to make you even more aware of every thought that comes to your mind, and to grab those that are not of Him, and say out loud to those wrong thoughts, "No lo importa! It's not important!'
Then start praising the LORD out loud! When we resist the enemy, he will flee. He runs fastest when we start praising the LORD!
I like to say things like, "Jesus, You are LORD! Blessed be the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever!"
You can also take authority in the Name of Jesus over the enemy. He is defeated, but he tries to trick us (He's always lying!), and torment us with wrong thoughts. It's really all about trying to get our minds of God and how good and glorious and victorious the LORD Jesus Christ is!
So, to the enemy's junk: "No lo importa! It's not important!"
To the LORD Jesus Christ: "Jesus, You are LORD, forever! I worship You! You are my life!"
And may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.--Deuteronomy 30:20, AMPC
"Thank You that Your plans for me are good (Jeremiah 29:11), and You are doing for me much more than I could ever imagine (Ephesians 3:20)! I love you and You love me forever (Jeremiah 31:3)! Hallelujah!"
Go for it! The Spirit of God and His holy angels will move--which is extremely important in your life, every day--when you speak God's Word!
