GOD SAID "LIFE IS SUPPOSED TO BE HARD"

by linzy bruno
8/28/2021 / Bible Studies

The Bible is clear that life is not only hard, it's supposed to be; God uses our trials to teach us and redirect us and bring healing for our souls. We don't actually learn anything through the good and easy times, it's only through our trials that we learn the lessons God is wanting to teach us.

Jesus Himself promised that in this world we will face trouble, but when we do, He will deliver us, for He is our source. Moreover, what the Lord Wills is always righteous and just and in accordance with what is best for us; in conjunction with our needs for growth and learning:

"And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord." (Deuteronomy 8:2-3)

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, " (2Corinthians 4:16-17)

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

"Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy." (1Peter 4:12-13)

"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2Corinthians 12:9-10)

"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials," (1Peter 1:6)

"the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs and the wonders, the mighty hand and the outstretched arm, by which the Lord your God brought you out. So shall the Lord your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid." (Deuteronomy 7:19)

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" (Romans 8:35)

"rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;" (Romans 12:12)

"and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble." (Mark 4:17)
