PHYSICAL WELLNESS

BETTER OFF ARE WE TO HAVE ILLNESS, BUT CLOSENESS WITH GOD, THAN PERFECT HEALTH; NEVER HAVING KNOWN HIM.......

If we were to abide in perfect health that would more deeply engrain and enslave us in this world and God would rather we suffer with less than perfect health, so that we learn to lean on Him; that's far better than abiding in perfect health and living  without Him. And we are far more compelled to trust in God when we are suffering; so much more likely are we to lean on Him then. This is overcoming human nature and abiding in our new spiritual nature.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  (2Corinthians 5:17)

We would be much wiser and far better off keeping our eyes fixed on spiritual wellness over physical wellness. Abiding in priorities that line up with God's ought to be more desirable to us than our drive toward perfection in this, our temporary home.

 

"But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you."
(1 Peter 5:10)
