But How Do I Know?

by Tonja Taylor
11/19/2020 / Christian Living

Today I had to stay home from work because it was required someone be here when the internet tech came to increase the speed of my service after the installation of the new fiber a couple of weeks before.

We had been told that, much to our surprise and delight, we would be getting a free upgrade to a speed four times greater than we'd had--for the same price!

We were excited and thankful. Our speed was already very good, but I knew the upgrade was a blessing from the LORD to make my internet tutoring and teaching work even better for me and my students around the world!

The LORD is so good! And perhaps I had prayed this out in the Spirit. The LORD and His angels were always working to help and heal and deliver and protect and guide and bless me, amen! My Father God loves me. Our God loves so much, and delights to bless us!

So the tech came and, within about 30 minutes, he had everything set up. Before he left, I checked to make sure all was working, which actually should not have been a concern, but I did. All was great.

"You're all fixed up," he said, and started to leave.

"But how do I tell that it's 4 times faster?" I asked him.

"Well, there is some packet loss, but you'll be able to tell with videos and such," he said.

I thanked him. Then I loaded a video. Perhaps it seemed to load a bit faster, but I really couldn't tell. However, this is where faith came in: In my heart, I felt the Spirit urging me to just relax, and He helped me choose to believe the tech, even though I couldn't really tell at that moment that things had changed; that things had increased several times; that things had speeded up for us; that things had been made better.

After all, this was purely a Blessing of the LORD; we had not even ordered the inrease! But God is the God of positive increase, amen!

We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). I didn't understand how things had changed, and it did not seem like I could see change. But I knew the tech had been ordered to make things better and, just like the Holy Spirit and the holy angels--who are always working all things together for the best of us God's Covenant kids (Romans 8:28, Genesis 50:20)--I knew there had been a change. I chose to believe it, even though I couldn't "see" it.

I knew that I knew that I knew that my sweet Daddy God Who loves me had arranged this. And that was good enough for me!

Through books, courses, presentations, service, prayer, worship, and more, Tonja and her husband live to exalt God. Her series for girls, P.O.W.E.R. GIRL ADVENTURES, is now out (books I-V), along with LEGACY; YOUR HOLY HEALTH: VISIONS OF THE KING, and more. See the "River Rain Creative" YT channel.
