Love Yourself as God wants you to

by Sue Darling
10/11/2020 / Christian Living

Very few of us love ourselves as we are called to. We listen to, too many lies from the devil and the proper gander of the world, and not what God is trying to tell us. The opinion of the world is back to front from what God is telling us. We judge ourselves too harshly as a genuine rule. We tend to expect ourselves to live up to an impossible task of what the world and those around us expect of us.

God wants us to be ourselves, and know the difference between loving ourselves the right way from the wrong way. We are allowed by God to be kind to ourselves and know it takes time to get our spiritual house in order. We fail many times before we can break bad habits, but if we keep persevering with Gods’ help we will break bad habits with a positive attitude. Too many times we expect instant success.

I wasn’t very good at many of the subjects that the school was teaching me. Because God gave me different gifts that that school didn’t teach. So I had an inferior complex which should have never happened. My mother use to go to different schools when she was young. One school, sports was all important. If you were good at sports they made a great fuss over you. Another school my mother went to, the academic studies were more important. So if your talent was sports they weren’t impress with you. You see what I am getting at. Depending on what crowd you are in, they expect you to win their approval, but not Gods’. And God is the one who made us. He is the one who hands out gifts to His children. Not one gift is less precious than the other. They are all important to serve Him in His Kingdom purpose. God has a perfect plan for all of us.

But we need to listen to the Holy Spirit and ask God to direct our lives where we should go. I believe if you have a dream that doesn’t go away, God put it there. Usually it is impossible without Gods’ supernatural help to accomplish it. Because God wants all the glory. I was told by God He has a greater dream than I do of myself, and that includes you also. It requires believing in Gods’ special love for you alone and are willing to go after your dream with much prayer and waiting for the right time, place and people to help you arrive. And also doing what you can to make it happen. We need to speak positively about ourselves and our future. Declaring and decreeing as much as possible. Like the Bible says there is power in the tongue. And like it also says, “decree a thing and it shall be established.” I am not sure where that is in the Bible, but it is in there.

Don’t be harsh on yourself when you can’t be the person you want to be. You are in Gods’ eyes the perfect child of God all ready. You and I need to really know that all the time. If we doing our best despite of our failures that is all right. Jesus spoke to a nun called Sister Josefa Menendez that He prefers someone who has fallen many times, but humbly repents, from someone who hasn’t fallen much, but is full of pride. Remember Gods’ love is nothing like mans’ love. We love most of the time conditionally, but Gods love is never ending. And we are in love with God, serving Him the best way we can, is very pleasing to Him. We must remember we are the head and not the tail. Shows on T.V. makes out they are the smart ones, but in truth they preach from their shows lies. Only truth will stand. When the storms of life hits, lies will crumble and fall down with a loud noise. But those who are righteous in the Lord will be able to stand through any storm, because they trust God with all they have. They don’t lean on their own understanding, so that makes them teachable and bendable for the Holy Spirit to work through them. When God fights for us, we always win.

Because I failed to fast properly for a couple of days I got upset with myself. This is what some of the things God had to say to me. “How I wish you would consider how many times you have completed a fast? Sue you are wrecking your chances when you address yourself as a failure. Are you not my child? You awakening to your faults. They always were there, but now you see them better.” In other words the more light is poured into us by the Spirit of God, we are going to see faults that we didn’t know about. So we can work on that area. Just imagine if God was to show us all our faults at once, it would kill us. So sometimes we are actually advancing when we see more, to work on. I have to warn you that not always this is so. The more you see doesn’t always mean you are advancing, only when you are truly fighting for Gods’ Kingdom to come. There are of course those who don’t want to improve and they live in sin, because they choose to do so.

Prayer is so powerful and we need to pray for everybody not just our family.
