GOD IS USING THESE PERILOUS TIMES TO LOOSEN OUR GRIP ON THIS WORLD: Encouragement For Believers
by linzy bruno
7/07/2020 / Prophecy
Perilous times have the power to loosen our grip on this world because God is using these times, in which to speak to the unsaved and His people.
Several Prophecy teachers have been saying that these perilous times help loosen our grip on this world; causing us to focus on and look forward to our eternal lives in Heaven. Tragedy has a way of making us run to the throne. In contrast, when things are going well, our human nature would have us do the opposite. When we are getting what we want, we are much more likely to become blinded by worldly happiness and forget God.
Currently, we can clearly see peril and tragedy all around us or in our own lives and that makes the world a less desirable place. But the bad may be turned into good, as our fixation on the world is unhinged.....
The good news is that these perilous times indicate that Jesus is at the door:
"Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)
The Word Teaches That Perilous Times Will Come:
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:" (2Timothy 3:1)
"Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour." (1John 2:18)
Also see Revelation 16:1-21
If we are looking, we can see God's Plan for the wicked through these verses/passages. But what we can also derive from these illustrations, is that when we look at the world at large and see countless injustices, huge increases in human suffering, and a multitude of new reasons to be afraid to go outside, we will eventually start to long for that MUCH better life that is waiting for us in Heaven. Then a beautiful transition of focus can occur; increasing our desire for God and our longing for His Appearing.
Another thing that becomes crystal clear in all this confusion is that God is separating the "wheat" from the "tares." With the increase in deception, there comes confirmation of the "true colors" of those we know and those we hear about. When people act out, they reveal their true desires; even if they've resisted the temptation to break free for a long time.
It's interesting that it took all of this: a global pandemic, cleverly veiled domestic terror groups, the lukewarm church and the devil's long list of other lies, to bring about this divine separation and shine a bright light on the evil that is gradually taking over this whole world.
(AND UPDATE: Terror groups that our own government is aiding financially, while under the pretense of "helping Israel.")
Satan has always had power, but never more than right now. The prince of this world is running the show and countless lives will be lost amid his reign of terror and confusion, which will become much worse during the tribulation, especially the last 3 1/2 years; the Great Tribulation. Therefore, we must warn others that it has never been more crucial than it is now to give our lives to Christ and love His Appearing:
"He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad." (Matthew 12:30)
One last thought on why God would have us in perilous times right now: if things were great we could miss the signs of Jesus' Coming. Even believers could miss that this is the end of days. Wanting to stay here; we may just continue to enjoy all the pleasures of life and miss that Christ is about to APPEAR! Therefore, we would stay as spiritual infants; unaware of the dangers of carnality and void of the fear of the Lord.
So then, we can see from this illustration, that these difficult times we are all going through are first of all, temporary, and most importantly, God's way of signaling the end.
So we see the need to grow closer to our Lord in preparation for His Return and determine to reach to the lost.
Also, to purpose to complete all the work He has for us here and find joy, not to mention tremendous comfort in knowing we will soon be serving Him in Paradise; Fellowshipping with HIM in Spiritual Bodies!
For those of us who believe, there's no fear because God is with us and will never leave us nor forsake us and especially during the End Times:
"A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling." (Psalm 91:7-9)
With peril coming upon us, and the Bible predicting it will only get worse and such great deception overcoming this world, we who love God have to bury our heads, not in the sand; pretending everything will be okay, but in THE WORD: in prayer (and perhaps fasting) and focus on spreading the good news of the Gospel whenever and wherever possible!
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND LET CHRIST BE YOUR EVERYTHING.
Can I get an AMEN?!
