Where Will Wisdom Be Found?
by Ngozi Nwoke
7/09/2019 / Christian Living
Where can you find wisdom for living? If wisdom is crucial for living on earth, then it is a virtue you must search for and possess. Interestingly, it seems not to be easily accessible, otherwise many people will possess it. This post aims to direct you to the right source and access to wisdom.
But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know its value, nor is it found in the land of the living. The deep says, 'It is not in me'; and the sea says, 'It is not with me.' It cannot be purchased for gold, nor can silver be weighed for its price. Destruction and Death say, 'We have heard a report about it with our ears.' God understands its way, and He knows its place - Job 28:12-15, 22-23 (NKJV).
Wisdom is fifty percent of the solution to people's challenges, therefore, discovering the wisdom needed for a challenge is to have the first half of that challenge solved. Unfortunately, many people don't know or understand this and so are endlessly struggling to solve their problems without making any headway. Some people know this but are looking for wisdom in the wrong places and so are also stuck with their problems.
Everything of value has a place to find it; so does wisdom. If you don't know where to find it, you may end up with the fake version of it, like demonic wisdom. The book of Job 28:12-24 has things to say about the source of wisdom:
1. Man does not know the price of it.
The value of wisdom is beyond man's imagination and so he can't put a price tag on it or bargain for it.
2. It is not found in the land of the living.
It's not earthly and so can't be found on earth.
3. It is not in the deep or sea.
You can't mine it.
4. It cannot be bought with silver or gold or any precious stone.
The value of wisdom cannot be compared or equaled to any precious stone. It is above them all.
5. Destruction and death have heard the fame of it.
Those who possessed it have power over destruction and death, as such are able to keep away from their traps. They don't fall victim to them before the appointed time.
6. God knows the place for it.
The lord understands the way to wisdom, for he looks to the ends of the earth and sees under the whole heaven. Nothing is hidden or unknown to Him.
In conclusion, the rich has no advantage over the poor in accessing wisdom. No race has a monopoly of it since it's not found in the land of the living. Wisdom is of great value that is comparable to none. Everyone who desires it must go to God to show them the way to wisdom's domain. The good news is that anyone can find wisdom, for the way has been made known by the Lord. He said to man in Job 28:28, to have the fear of the Lord is to have wisdom.
