COMFORT IN GRIEF

Thought: In December of 2018 I joined the ranks of all those women whose husbands have passed on. After 58 years of marriage to my best friend, partner and love of my life, I found myself alone, confused and without direction. Where will my comfort and strength to move forward come from?
When my son was 18 months old he had a rare life threatening genetic condition called a vascular ring that had cut off his ability to breath and swallow. After his birth a horrific time followed of seeking a trail of doctors looking for answers. He was admitted into Children's Hospital in Denver and under the care of skilled physicians they discovered and corrected the problem. During that time I realized how fragile life is and that I had no power over my sons outcome ... I placed my faith in the ONE who did, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through the hard times in my marriage He has always been my stabilizer imparting comfort, strength, wisdom and hope for better things to come.
Jesus promised that he would never leave us alone. After his ascension in his perfect body he returned in Spirit (Comforter) to indwell all those who by faith believed what the Gospel said about him. Again during His transfiguration when He revealed his formal glory to the disciples two figures appeared with him. They were the spirit bodies of Moses and Elijah. Evidence that life does go on even after death. We have only two places of destination and it's determined on the choice we make, either to deny or embrace Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The confidence that I have in this Truth and the decision I made is the hope I have that some day I will be joining my loved ones gone on before me. I will see my husband again...he's alive and well in that place that God has reserved for all of his children after their physical life has ended. This Truth is my stabilizer and comfort in my every days. Jesus presence and his promise that we will see our loved ones again assures me their life has not come to a final end. Are you making sure you and your loved ones have that security through faith in Christ? Allow him to be the great COMFORTER that he is. Maranatha
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the hope I have of seeing my husband again because I have placed my faith in you, my Savior and Redeemer. You promise that Spirit part of me is eternal, it will go on forever. You are my Comfort and Peace giver. Amen
Verse: John 14:26,27 (KJ) " But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
