Depositing And Withdrawing From Your Bank Account In Heaven
by Ngozi Nwoke
6/28/2017 / Christian Living
When last did you deposit or withdraw from your account in heaven? Many Christian believers' accounts in heaven are dormant; some are empty, while others are not empty but without transactions. However, there are some accounts in heaven that are very active, their owners deposit and withdraw steadily. Which category do you belong to? This article encourages you to make use of your heaven's bank account.
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also - Matthew 6:20-21 (NKJV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you - Matthew 6:33 (NKJV).
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them - Mark 11:23-24 (NKJV).
Every child of God has an account with God in heaven. The day you received Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, an account was opened in your name. Hallelujah! And from that day you were expected to be operating the account: depositing and withdrawing from it.
Unfortunately, many people seem not to be aware of this account or they don't how to operate the account. As such, many Christian believers are expecting to receive so much from God when they have deposited little or nothing into their accounts, while others are depositing so much, but failing to draw. These latter people wonder why the scriptures are not being fulfilled in their lives with all they are doing in and for the kingdom of God.
Like bank accounts here on earth, you operate your accounts by depositing and withdrawing from them. Let's look at them one after the other.
DEPOSITING INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IN HEAVEN
Many Christians pay more attention to how much they have in their accounts on earth more than their accounts in heaven. Jesus admonished that you should not lay up your treasures on earth but in heaven where you are sure nothing will happen to it: where it will not be affected by economic crisis or stolen by thieves. However, the Lord added that your decision of where to store your treasure or pay more attention to is a function of where your heart is (Matthew 6:19-21). Where is your heart?
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
This is how to store your treasure in your account in heaven. When you are pursuing the will of God to be established on earth, you are making deposits (every other thing will be added unto you) into your heaven's account. The number one will of God is that all men be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), and that includes you. So, when you receive Jesus as your personal Lord and savior (John 3:3-6) and continuously work towards seeing others saved (Mark 16:15-16), you are making deposits with God. This includes living a righteous life for all to see Jesus in you and desire to have Him too (1 Peter 2:12, 1 Peter 3:1), and spending your money, energy and time to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 8:1-5). In summary, whenever you please God (Colossians 1:10) you make deposits in your account in heaven. So search out what pleases God and continuously do them and you will continuously be depositing into your heaven's account.
WITHDRAWING FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IN HEAVEN
You can't have so much money in your bank account and be dying of hunger or suffering. You need to go and withdraw from your account and use it to meet your needs. God won't go and withdraw for you, you have to do it yourself. It is your account. Many believing Christians are crying out to God to help them and He is saying, "Why are you crying out to me to do something when you are to go forward and draw from your treasures in heaven" (Exodus 14:15-16).
Here, I am going to liken withdrawing from your heaven's account to the use of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on earth.
Accessing your bank account
Thanksgiving and praise is like your ATM card in an ATM. Give thanks and praise to God and you will gain access into the gates and courts of God (Psalm 100:4). You need to thank God and praise Him for who He is. Appreciate Him for the provisions He made available to you in His word. Whatever you want from God, get the scriptures that promise that they are yours to take and thank God for them. For example, Malachi 3:10 promises that if you bring all your tithes into the storehouse of God, that the Lord will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessing for you such that you will not have enough room to receive it. So, you thank God for this provision and for God's willingness to fulfill it in your life (Luke 5:12-13). Also, 1 Peter 2:24 promises healing to you; and so if you desire healing you thank God for this provision of healing in His word.
Keying in your password
The password for you to withdraw with your ATM card is Mark 11:23, it says that you will have whatever you say. YOU NEED TO SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO HAVE, AND NOT WHAT YOU HAVE THAT YOU DON'T WANT. Many people are saying what they have (which they don't want) and so they keep having it. You shall have what you say! For example, some people say, "it's not working", and so it continues not to work. When you have gained access into God's presence say what you want and believe that it shall be so, and you will see the blessing come out. Some may come out faster than others, but they all will come out. You are to say something like, "Lord, according to Deuteronomy 15:10, the works of my hands shall prosper, I will prosper in whatever I do"
Receiving what you want
Until you reach out to the ATM outlet to receive your money or somebody else does, the money remains there. It is useless to you there until you receive it. Mark 11:24 says that you need to believe that you receive, for you to have what you asked God for in prayers. Reach out and receive what you want, your healing, financial blessing, success, children, etc., and you will have them. Don't wait until you see the physical manifestation before you receive it. In God's kingdom, it is the other way round: you believe you receive them, then you have them in physical manifestation. This is faith in action. May God give you understanding in Jesus name.
In conclusion, that you don't claim your blessings doesn't mean the provisions are not there. For example, your salvation was purchased about 2000 years ago with the blood of Jesus on the cross (1 Corinthians 6:20, Ephesians 1:7), but it only became yours the day you received Jesus as your personal Lord and savior (John 1:12). So, search out God's provisions for you in the scriptures and claim them. If you have made your deposits, then receive your blessings. Therefore, you that are pleasing God in all you do, I encourage you to reach out in faith and draw all your heart desires from your bank account in heaven today.
