One of the secrets of successful Woodcutters is accuracy. They always hit the spot they aim for. So how does this translate in my life? There are three parts to this:
1) Pick the right spot.
Set the RIGHT goals. Goal setting is not just about dreaming of what you want to achieve. Many people fail to achieve their goals because they set the wrong goals for themselves. Goals are supposed to lead you to your ultimate dream, if it doesn’t it’s a wrong goal. Be accurate in setting your goals, goals that drive you to living your dream.
2) Apply your energy there
Be accurate in “hitting” your goals. Remember, the reason many never achieve their goals is that they lack accuracy. They set goals and focus their energy on meaningless things. To be accurate is to apply your energy and resources on your goals. Don’t get distracted by temporary things. Always focus on the ultimate, not the immediate in life. The ultimate is the dream your are working towards. The immediate are short term events that may distract us. When an event calls for your attention, evaluate whether it will be beneficial or detrimental to the ultimate. Life is too short to waste time on trivial issues.
3) Repeat! Repeat! Repeat!
A tree does not fall with one strike of the axe, no matter how accurate. Repetition is necessary. Never give up when your efforts seem fruitless, keep on striking at your goals till you succeed. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try and try again. Many times people give up too soon when the going gets tough, you be different. Never give up on your dreams, fight for them till the end.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Accuracy is all about the choices we make in life. Every choice you make will either move you closer to your dreams or away from them. Choose life!
