Be A Remnant
by Olawale Ogunsola
8/13/2012 / Prophecy
Being a remnant or belonging to a remnant group is a splendid thing, especially when it is on the positive note.
Life is like a race, very few people win. A wise author said, 'The ladder of success is never crowded at the top'. Why? This is because, very few people succeed in life. A remnant succeeds.
Taking this farther, how many people are on the side of the Lord their Maker? Remnant as well. Note that this issue goes beyond religion or denomination.
It is possible for you to be very religious or be a member of a very large denomination but remain an enemy of God, an anti-Christ.
Have you heard or do you remember the story of a man called Noah? This man was a remnant in his own time. Genesis 6:8-9 reads,
'But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord....Noah was a just man perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.'
In Noah's generation. he was a just and perfect man- a remnant.
In this generation, God wants a remnant, are you one? Jesus Christ declares in Matthew 24:37-38.
'But as the days of Noah were so also will the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days before the flood, they
were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah
entered the ark'.
Can you imagine the population of the people that perished in the flood in Noah's days? What do you think the population could be in that generation?
Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians9:22,24 that
'22 to the weak I become as weak that I
might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that
I might by all means save some using ALL MEANS to SAVE SOME.
24 Do you not know that those who run in
a race all run, but ONE RECEIVES THE PRIZE?' (capitals added).
My dear reader, do you want be a runner that receives the prize? Do you want to be a Remnant yourself? This is the day of grace. John 3:16 reads
'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.'
That is the extent of God's love for you. What must you do now? John 1:12 states,
'But as many as receive Him to them He gave the right to
become children of God, to those who bel-
ieve in His name.'
Therefore to be a remnant or belong to a remnant group for your Creator, you must become a child of God by being born again. That is,
'who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor
of the will of man, but of God.' John1:13
Therefore, if you want to be born again, read this aloud sincerely,
'Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for meeting me today with your grace and mercy. I realise I am a wrong doer like many other people and am helpless, I can not help myself. I, therefore confess my wrong doings before you and am determine to forsake them today and forever. I accept you as my lord and saviour forever. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
