hidden bags of
Snicker's candy bars
chocolate peanuts
caramel candies

The kitchen calls to me:
hidden bags of
Doritos
potato chips
cheesy popcorn

The kitchen shouts to me:
hidden bags of
Oreo cookies
chocolate-covered raisins
peanut-butter cups

I reveal the stash to my counselor.
I remove the numbing drugs.
I replace the food with emotional management.
I feed my psyche and soul.

The kitchen stops talking.
The kitchen is quiet.
