From head-to-toe, Andy is encased in a frozen block of ice. His cold outer shell is a fortress that prevents interpersonal relationships. Sex via one-night stands is his only physical contact. Years in prison tattooed icicles on his emotions. Survival forced Andy to play the role of bad boy and now that he's paroled, he's stuck in a cognitive igloo of paranoid reality; afraid of freedom but more afraid of losing freedom. Court-ordered to counseling by his parole officer, Andy complies but keeps the freezer door to his inner self closed and locked.

After completing his mandated number of therapy sessions, Andy hurriedly exits my office. I observe a dribble of water on the floor by his chair.
