Out of millions, one egg and one sperm
Find each other and creation is reborn.
Nine months in a watery castle,
My princess lies sleeping,
My baby, my daughter.

A bundle of slippery flesh and bones
Slides from inside my watermelon uterus
And my pelvis crackles and pops
While my grasping lungs beg for oxygen,
My newborn baby, my newborn daughter.

Like a newly baked summer breeze
A mystifying wind blows through her cry
And I hear cathedral bells humming.
A sterling silver moment is engraved,
My newborn baby, my newborn daughter.

My arms embrace my own universe
As she searches for my heartbeat.
Wrapped in a fuzzy pink blanket,
My world weights seven pounds, six ounces.
My newborn baby, my newborn daughter.

The heavens live in her smile
And the earth rotates around her body
As celestial wings flutter in her tears
And divinity sparkles in her eyes,
My newborn baby, my newborn daughter.
Willingly trapped in a snow globe
I wait for her to shake me
And watch as the fluffy flakes
Fall at the base of her petite feet,
My newborn baby, my newborn daughter.

Wonderment dances in a diaper
And amazement wears a cotton gown.
Putting my lips on her ancient cheek,
I kiss stardust and touch humanity's finest,
My baby, my daughter.
