Living An Eternal Life Before Reaching Eternity
by Dale Linton
1/31/2011 / Bible Studies
How do we live an eternal life on planet earth?
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
A heart reconnected to God forms a relationship to which we receive and experience eternal realities. This relationship is one where glimpses of eternity exists prior to arriving in Heaven.
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
How does Satan try to block these eternal benefits?
Matthew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
The "word of the kingdom" should be noted to be of particular importance to the enemies strategy and tactics. We must see "the wicked one" waiting for the opportunity to "catcheth away" that which isn't understood from the "word of the kingdom." This truth holds a very important question. What is contained within this "word of the kingdom" that would be so important that the enemy would monitor the presence of understanding within the human heart? It has to be extremely devastating to the enemies battle plan and strategy otherwise he wouldn't have his attention focused on the opportunity to "catcheth it away." The answer may be seen in the definition of the word, "kingdom".
By definition the word "kingdom" is made up of three building block words:
Royalty, Rule , Realm
Strong's Concordance Definition:
G932 kingdom From G935; properly royalty, that is, (abstractly) rule, or (concretely) a realm (literally or figuratively): - kingdom, + reign.
What Satan is trying so desperately to stop is the transfer which God provides for His children through the word of His power. It is a gift beyond our earthly ability to comprehend fore it would appear to be a literal transfer of His kingdom rights! What is being transferred may be perceived within the three R's:
Royalty:
1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
This transfer or adoption into Gods royal family has every benefit of that which is constituted in Heaven. There becomes an illumination within us by Gods grace in these facts; we are called, we are priest and priestesses, we are holy, we are oddly loving through the power of being loved. Showing forth are strange attributes the world cannot understand, yet at the same time the world is subconsciously attracted . This life is a mystery to the world because it contains the freedom and or power that royalty possesses, and yet displays the humility of a servant, with which Jesus conquered evil.
Rule:
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Every kingdom has a king and every king rules by having laws. In our case, the king is Jesus and the law or rules He governs with are spiritual. The law by which Jesus rules are identified by truth, having no lie nor error contained therein. Moreover; due to their spiritual character, these rules transfer the knowledge of the truth found in the libraries of Heaven. This King has limitless desire for us to conquer with Him through the wisdom contained in the knowledge of His law. These instructional words from the leadership of the Holy Spirit, initiate spiritual advancement, having us to become more like the King. The metamorphosis materializes through the relationship with the King and the grace He bestows on His subjects. Indeed; the army of Jesus is His family.
Realm:
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
The Bible is very clear to explain that we experience defeat or victory as a result of our interaction with the spiritual world. The Spirit of Truth, better known as the Holy Spirit, is He who resides within us after Jesus has become Lord of our lives. The relationship with the Holy Spirit then becomes the catalyst through which our spiritual growth occurs. The truths of the kingdom are communicated and transferred into us via the word of the kingdom. The Spirit of Truth, (Holy Spirit), the word of the kingdom and our spirit commune together in a relationship of renewal. This relationship with an eternal God, and His word, living inside of us has eternal qualities. The potential is this: we may now begin to live and experience an eternal existence before reaching eternity. How might God raise us up together to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus? Our relationship in and with an eternal being has within its grace that of taking on an omnipresence that is real, whether we are conscious of it or not. The truth is this ; we no longer are limited by natural barriers and the realm that is ever becoming more real to us is the spiritual.
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:
I have a desire to see the body of Christ edified. Within the broad spectrum of edification I feel there exists a great need and opportunity for spiritual education at foundational levels. Please contact me about speaking at your church. Dale Linton 410-378-5035 or [email protected]
