THE EMERGING WORLD EMPIRE 1

"And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation;" Rev. 13:1, 7 (NIV)

The pages of the scriptures abound with many prophecies about a coming world empire and its ruler, 11 Thessalonians 2:3, 4, 9, 10; Daniel 7:25; 8:25; 11:36. Verse seven above says, "he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation". This is a pictorial description of the global scope of this empire. The emergence of this global empire and its leader (the beast) shall be masterminded by Satan. "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders" 11 Thessalonians 2:9.

This empire shall come after the working of Satan. The devil and his men are working relentlessly to bring about this global government. His inordinate ambition to rule, which he could not achieve in heaven (Ezekiel 28:12-17; Isaiah 14:12-14), he shall exercise on earth in vicious and savage manner. It shall be a reign of terror. He shall enslave men's soul and lead them into eternal perdition in the lake of fire, Revelation 20:15; 21:8. Humanity shall suffer unimaginable cruelty and heinousness from the coming world ruler whose coming shall be after the working of Satan.

Satan, in a knavish and foxy scheme, is working towards the emergence of a coming world empire. His sinister intentions are not obvious now. What he is dangling before the world is the apparent benefit associated with a single world government. The devil has think tank working towards global governance. Some of them know they are working for a high spiritual being or entity but majority of them do not know. These men are the intelligential of our world, men of financial muscles, key players in the global economy, political stalwarts of global reckoning, heads of government or their advisers, heads of great financial institutions and respected heads of religious bodies (Christianity not exempted).

Without doubt, these 'one-worlders' have gone very far in discharging their duties: bringing about a global empire. We shall examine some ongoing events and activities that are pre-indicative of an exponential emergence of a global empire and a single president (the beast).

APPARENT NEED FOR ITS EMERGENCE
Contemporary global trend shows that the world is gravitating towards a single word government. The advocates of a single world government argue that since most issues facing national government are international in scope and nature, there is need for the world to come under one umbrella, one government, so as to tackle the issues centrally. These issues are global warming, global peace and security, global economic downturn, global terrorism, global disarmament and so on.

Andrew G. Marshall, analyzing the United States National Intelligence Council report entitled, 'Global Trends 2025: A Transformed World', strengthens the above argument thus:

Most of the pressing transnational problems- including climate change, regulation of globalized financial markets, migration, failing states, crime network, etc-are unlikely to be effectively resolved by the actions of individual nation-states. The need for effective global governance will increase faster than existing mechanism can respond. In other words, due to the growing threat of international problems, which are essentially the result of Western political-economic-intelligence activities and policies, the solution is a move towards international governance.

The above argument would have been stomached without caution but for the deadly bones embedded in it. There is something evil about the coming world government. It is powered by Satan. The plans, process and pursuit of its emergence are stage-managed by Satan; it shall be after the working of Satan! The stage is set for the devil to rule in proxy of the emerging world ruler or president.

The coming world government would involve more than co-operation between nations. It would be an entity with state-like characteristics, backed by a body of laws. The European Union (EU) has already set up a continental government of 27 countries, which could be a model.

MOVEMENTS FOR ITS EMERGENCE
There are numerous movements and organizations working towards a single world government. There is the Democratic World Federalist (DWF). DWF is a civil society organization with world-wide supporters based in San-Francisco. It advocates a democratic federal system of world government. There is also Word Federalist Movement (WFM). WFM is a global citizen movement with 23 members and 16 associated organizations around the globe. WFM is working towards the establishment of a federated world government. There are other movements like Parliamentarians for Global Actions, Global Citizens Movement, Coalition for World Democratic Government and so on.Many existing international organizations and institutions of global influence cannot extricate themselves from the process leading to a world government. The United Nations (UN), World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Trade Organization and many others are international structures with global coverage already.

EVIDENCE OF ITS EMERGENCE
Two principal factors that account for the speedy emergence of a global government shall be briefly explored: Regional and Continental Groupings and the World Constitution drafted by World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA).

Regional And Continental Groupings:
"Thus he said, the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise and another shall arise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High and shall wear out the saints of the most High and think to change times and laws Daniel 7:23-25.

The Bible in the book of Daniel Chapter 2 and 7 prophesied of four World Empire. Namely, Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Grecian and Roman Empire. The first three empires have come and gone. The fourth, the Roman Empire has two phases: the leg of iron (phase one) this has come and gone and the feet of iron and clay(phase two) see Daniel 2:33. We are at the brink of a resurgence of the Roman Empire (that is the second phase).

Verse twenty-four above says, "the fourth kingdom shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth" The first three kingdoms to a large extent were global but the fourth kingdom to all extent shall be global; every facet of the earth shall be covered. Another distinct feature of this kingdom is that it shall have ten horns, which are ten kings and shortly after another king shall arise who is greater than the other kings. These ten horns are akin in significance to the ten toes of the feet of iron mixed with clay (Daniel 2:33, 41, 42) representing the Roman Empire (the fourth kingdom).

Similarly, the beast out of the sea (Revelation 13:1-7) being the coming world ruler is described as having "...ten horns and upon his horns ten crowns and upon his head the name blasphemy"

The above scriptures unanimously indicate that the fourth Empire shall first exist as ten kingdoms with ten different heads (leaders) and shortly after there shall be a merger of those kingdoms into a single world empire. Although their various heads shall remain but another leader shall emerge who will rule over them all. It may jolt us to know that the world is at this prophetic point in history.

The world is gradually breaking into blocs. It is certain the world shall be broken into ten blocs according to the sure and inerrant word of God, the Bible. This is intensely evident in the formation of regional and continental bodies. These regional blocs are the ten horns and ten toes revealed in the books of Revelation and Daniel respectively. Below are some of these emerging blocs briefly highlighted.

Proposed Asia-Pacific Alignment:
Recently, Australia Prime Minister, Kelvin Rudd, suggested that Asia and Pacific countries form a regional bloc similar to the European Union. Rudd in a radio interview said, "The key thing is to enhance security and regional co-operation, which at present is fragmented."

Union of South American Nations (UNASUR):
Few months ago there was regional integration of twelve participating countries resulting in the formation of Union of South American Nations (UNASUR or USAN) established by a founding treaty signed on May 23, 2008, at the third submit of Heads of States, held in Braslia, Brazil. The Union Headquarters will be located in Quito, Ecuador while the bank of the South is to be situated in Bogot, Colombia. Its institutional structure directly copies the European Union model. The Arab League:
The Arab League is a regional organization of Arab state in southwest Asia, and North and Northeast Africa. It was formed in Cairo on March 22, 1945 and it currently has twenty-five members. The Secretary General is Amr Moussa.

The Association of Southeastern Asian Nation (ASEAN):
ASEAN is an organization of ten countries situated in Southeast Asia, which was founded in August 8, 1967 in Bangkok. The bloc aims at improving the economy of the member states and foster peace and security.

The Pacific Island Forum (PIF):
The Pacific Island Forum is an intergovernmental organization of sixteen countries founded in August 1971 as South Pacific Forum, which became PIF in 2000. Its aims are to strengthen co-operation among member states and harmonize regional positions on various political and policies issues.

African Union (AU):
Africa is a major part of the process leading to a single world government. This continent on July 9, 2002, formed an intergovernmental organization made up of fifty-three African States known as African Union (AU). The assembly of AU is the highest governing body chaired by Muamar al-Gaddafi of Lybia. He succeeded President Jakaya Kikwete, President of Tanzania. There is a strong proposal muted for the formation of the United States of Africa. The proposal was keenly debated at the July 2007 AU Summit held in Accra, Ghana. This is clear indication of how fast the world is moving towards regional integration.

European Union (EU):
European Union (EU) is a union of twenty-seven independent states located primarily in Europe. It was founded to strengthen political, economic, and socio-cooperation among member states. It was established on November 1, 1993 after the ratification of the treaty on European Union or Maastricht Treaty by twelve member states of the European Community. By that treaty they adopted a single currency, the euro, in 1999. This eventually came into use January 1, 2002. The current President of the EU Commission is Jose Manuel Barroso
There are other regional bodies like Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and so on. The closest body to what the federating units (or the ten regional blocs) that would constitute the coming world federation should like is the European Union. This is largely because of its strategic relevance to the emergence of a global federation. Europe shall most likely produce the coming world ruler, the antichrist.

The increasing economic, political and military integration of European Union is a strong indication of the federalization of European Union. This has led to a recent proposal for a United States of Europe like the United States of America. African Union is following closely and so do other regional bodies.

Evidently, there is a growing unification within the emerging regional blocs. When this is matured, not long from now, each bloc will have a head or leader. Presently they (their heads) go by different appellations: secretary general, chairman, president and so on. However, when the federation of the earth emerges, there shall be the same designation for all the regional heads. Thereafter one super-head will emerge as the president of the federation of the earth (Daniel 7:23-25). His tenure shall be seven years, Daniel 9:27.
