His Beauty For My Ashes Book Review
by Tai Ikomi It had been six years since I've read through an entire book on grief. And though I had agreed to read "His Ashes For My Beauty," I had a hard time getting pas t chapter two. Not because it wasn't a good book, but because her loss was so devastatingso painful. Yet, as I watched the news reports about the loss and devastation of Hurricane Katrina, I knew I needed to finish reading this book. I knew people would be looking for quality books on grief, to help them help others deal with their losses. So I sat down and read the book. Ikomi lost her beloved husband and three, beautiful children in a tragic car accident, because of a drunk driver. She grieved, but even in the midst of her grief, God had other plans for her. Plans to help her heal and prosper. God wanted her to understand the power of His strength, so as long as she praised and worshipped God, He renewed her strength and continued to heal her soul. But then she had a short relapse and put God aside. Her grief resurfaced with such force, that depression soon set in and darkness filled her thoughts. She returned to her faith and has never looked back This is her story, and while I felt Chapter 8 didn't fit the theme of the book, I believe she included it because it was a process she had to go through to get to the other side. If you're looking for encouragement and healing, you'll want to read this book. The Dabbling Mum.com Dr. Tai Ikomi is an author of over 30 books .and a conference speaker.
