Christians Awake
by Stanley Davis

Christians awake, the trumpet has sounded, the bell has been rung. It is time for us as a Christian nation to step up to the plate. The Government that we have elected will come down on the church as never before. God, of course was not surprised by our ignorance, he allowed us to choose who we wanted. Remember King Saul in the bible, the Israelites wanted a king and God gave them what they wanted. Now that the elections are past and our new government will take control in a few weeks, it is the time to be the Christian we claim to be. It is time to stand together and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to America and show the world we still honor our Christian heritage. Our new Government has made multiple statements that are detrimental to the Christian faith. Add to that the people that the President elect is placing in authority in offices at the white house and beyond. We are going to be witnessing adverse times. There are too many variables in our new Government, so we need to show our total support to the one who can change hearts and minds; that right Jesus Christ. We need to be on our knees more today than ever before praying for this nation and our elected leaders. The President elect and his constituents have made statements that a Christian should fear, be aware of and be concerned about. Like, abortion, the sanctity of marriage, stem cell research, three of our biggest concerns today and there are many others. As true Christians we know that abortion is wrong, it is legalized murder. Most women that have had an abortion regret it, thank God for his mercy and his every loving forgiveness. Something the church needs to display more of. If the President elect continues with what got him elected, a person will eventually be able to marry multiple partners of any origin. Look at the stem cell issue, kill babies, use their tissue for stem cell research, next on the list will be the aged and dying. It brings me to this point, where are the real Christians? It would appear that most Christians are wearing there Christianity on their sleeve and not in their heart. I know when Christ saved me; he saved me to be a follower of his every day, (24/7) not just when it is convenient for me. Today is the day of Salvation.
