‘Hi; how you doin’?
‘Fine and you?’
Be honest; are you really?
I wouldn’t want to reveal my personal problems or burden others. As a result, I might stifle my feelings and put on a happy face. A lifelong friend would look beyond the smile and sense that something was wrong.
‘Okay, spill it!’
Confiding in a friend brings relief. Would I pour out my heart?
Why wait?
The Lord knows me better than I know myself.
God truly cares.
“I cry out with my voice to the Lord; With my voice I implore the Lord for compassion. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him. When my spirit felt weak within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk (Psalm 142:1-3a NASB).”
Lord, I know I can trust You.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB).”
Spill it; He restores peace.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 NASB).”
