DEFINITIONS OF FREEDOM

NOTE: Some Scriptures overlap in what is being indicate
1). Biblical Freedom A). Freedom from the law—Before Jesus came to earth believers had to adhere to strict regulations, rules and rituals, but because of our Lord’s Great Sacrifice, NT believers have been freed from the law of regulation and are led and guided by The Holy Spirit personally, for as He abides in us and we cooperate to allow His Kingship, we are changed gradually into His Image: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:22-24) “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” (Galatians 2:16) B). Freedom From Effort—What writers mean when they say, freedom from striving. The only striving is to stay in Christ, it could be called the striving to stay out of one’s own way, remaining open to holy change and cooperation with His indwelling Spirit, otherwise what He is doing will never manifest. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2Corinthians 3:17) “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (1Corinthians 5:17) But, the point here is that believers can enjoy the freedom of having to make any effort in the spirit, just consecrate the flesh, crucifying it unto the LORD, in order to grow in Him. C). The Freedom That Comes From Remaining Humble—Here is an example of proper countenance before GOD: “But, it wasn’t me who did anything, it was God. All I did was stay out of His Way and let Him change me!” “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.” (2Corinthians 5:17) “that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.” (1Corinthians 1:31) “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) D). Forever Freedom—Details below
2). Governmental Freedom A). Freedom To Live With Human Rights--This is the context in which we most typically refer to what freedom means, and needs no explanation, however, the freedoms we have known as Americans is being grotesquely threatened and has even been manifested in some sectors of our great country, or what used to be our great country anyway…… In Romans 13 Paul tells us that God is has ordained that we obey government, but in Acts 5, we learn that there are those times when we cannot abide what government decrees IF the government is governing in unrighteousness: “And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!” But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:27-29) B). UPSIDE-DOWN FREEDOM--THESE DAYS WITH WICKEDNESS NOW LEADING THE WORLD AT LARGE, AS AMERICA HAS ALWAYS HAD SUCH A GREAT SWAY, AND NEVER HAVE WE HAD TO ENDURE SUCH A WICKED ADMINISTRATION THE WORD FREEDOM HAS TAKEN ON A WHOLE NEW MEANING FOR THE UNSAVED WORLD, AT LEAST THOSE OF THEM THAT BELIEVE WE SHOULD HAVE OPEN BORDERS, BECAUSE WHEN FOREIGNERS ARE AFFORDED FREEDOMS AND AMERICANS ARE DENIED THOSE FREEDOMS EVEN THOUGH THEY SHOULD BE THE ONES WHO ENJOY THEM, WELL, LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, THEY TURN GOD’S PLAN FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS UPSIDE-DOWN, BECAUSE WELL, THAT’S WHAT THEIR FATHER SATAN HAS DIRECTED THEM TO DO, just read Isaiah 5:20!
BUT, thanks be to GOD that our forever freedom is coming and it is coming SOON! We know because we see the countless signs and the convergence therein: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming on a could with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:25-28) ALSO SEE: Matthew 24:8
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” (1Thessalonians 4:13-18)
