CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Freelance writer Lupie Riley Thought: I’m sure everyone at one time in their life has moved to a new location. I find myself in that process now. After 14 years in my current home, I will be moving into a senior apartment in Colorado Springs. From country to city will be an adjustment for me. According to scripture, God’s children will be making a move soon—an eternal one in a twinkling of an eye when the trumpet blows. Are you ready? You don’t want to be left behind. I Cor. 15:51-57 “I tell you this my brother; an earthly body made of flesh and blood cannot get into God’s kingdom. These perishable bodies of ours are not the right kind to live forever. But I am telling you this strange and wonderful secret; we shall not all die, but we shall all be given new bodies! It will all happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For there will be a trumpet blast from the sky and all the Christians who have died will suddenly come alive with new bodies that will never, never die; and then we who are alive shall suddenly have new bodies too. For our earthly bodies, the ones we have now that can die, must be transformed into heavenly bodies that cannot perish but will live forever.” Note: We already have an example of what these bodies will be like because of Jesus’ resurrection. In his glorified body he walked through walls, ate with the disciples, and walked with them for forty days before his ascension. Those that have passed on will be the first to be given their new glorified bodies before those that are still alive. I Thess. 4:15-18 “But I can tell you this directly from the Lord: that we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. For the Lord himself will come down from Heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. And we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever. So comfort and encourage each other with this news.” God promises a new home for his children, John 14:1-3. “Let not your hearts be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am. If this weren’t so, I would tell you plainly. “ He will come and call us up to be with him forever. Are your bags packed? Prophecy is falling into place on high speed and this even could happen any time. Is our hearts and minds on meeting Jesus? We don’t want to be left behind. Lot’s wife looked back at what she was leaving and it cost her life. With the turmoil in the world today, God’s children have that blessed hope that something far better awaits us in our near future. Pray for those loved ones who are till out of that safety realm in Christ Jesus. Prayer: Father God, thank you for the promise of a better life ahead, an eternal life that will never end. Amen Verse: John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
