Following her divorce (post 1949) from Prince Aly, American Film star Rita Hayworth was offered $1,000,000.00 by the Prince to allow their son to be raised as a Muslim. Rita refused.

In terms of 2024 dollars, that sum that was offered in 1949-50 would be worth $12,640,000.00.

If a similiar offer was made ($12M) to today's "religious" folks, I wonder how many would turn it down like Rita did. Probably not many. Lucre can that effect even upon the best of us.

* Rita died of Alzheimer's disease at age 68 on 5/14/1987.
