PEACE IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS
by Lupie Riley
Freelance writer Lupie Riley Thought: Most of you would agree we live in a tumultuous time in history. Rumors of wars, violence, depravity rages on just like in the days of Noah. We are living in such a time as this. As a believer, what is our response to it all? Do we go into hiding, denial, indifference, or do we face it head-on, standing strong in the faith and trusting in the One who promised never to leave us? II Tim. 2:13 “Even when we are too weak to have any faith left, he remains faithful to us, and will help us, for he cannot disown us who are a part of himself, he will always carry out his promises to us” Heb. 13:5b-6 “That is why we can say without any doubt or fear. “The Lord is my Helper and I am not afraid of anything that mere man can do to me.” Det. 31:6 “Be Strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will never fail nor forsake you. “ We can also find peace in Psalms 23: (Living Bible translation)
Prayer: Father God, thank you for this promise of a better life ahead. We will be spending eternity with you and our loved ones that have gone on ahead. Amen Verse: Phill. 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.”
