Have You Killed a Lion and a Bear?
by Ray Cleghorn When David faced Goliath, he had confidence that he would be the victor because he already knew that God had been with him when he killed a lion and a bear, so he knew in his spirit that He would also be with him in this battle. His current confidence was due to past victories. It came from two sources: confidence in God and confidence in himself that he could do anything he needed to do because God was with him. Guess what? You can too if you are a born-again Christian. He is always with you, will never forsake you, and will help you realize who you are and the authority he has given you so you can take that step to face the Goliaths in your path. Have you killed a lion or a bear? No? Neither had David until it became necessary to do so, then as he stepped out in faith, God gave him the strength and ability he needed. As sons and daughters of the Most High and brothers and sisters of the king it’s our call from heaven to challenge and work toward removing Satan’s strongholds in the earth and introduce the will of God in its place. In the days we are living in now, it is becoming more and more necessary for all of God's children to step out in faith and challenge the enemy wherever we encounter him. Instead of looking for a quick exit from this world, we need to look for some smooth, slick red river rocks to hurl at the giants that are blocking the path of God's will being done on the earth.
