It’s like a record stuck in the grooves; my husband Norm repeats himself. Driving through nearby communities, I hear a familiar statement.
“I was there in the census.” He was a 2021 census taker and enjoyed the part time job. Working in a census during the COVID outbreak was an interesting experience.
God had a Zion census; I find that interesting.
“His foundation is in the holy mountains. The Lord loves the gates of Zion More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, City of God. Selah ‘I shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me; Behold, Philistia and Tyre with Cush: ‘This one was born there.’ But of Zion it will be said, ‘This one and that one were born in her’; And the Most High Himself will establish her. The Lord will count when He registers the peoples, ‘This one was born there.’ Selah Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes will say, ‘All my springs of joy are in you (Psalm 87:1-7 NASB).”
The LORD counted heads; I believe He still does. He knows where His children were born and registers names of those born again.
“The one who overcomes will be clothed the same way, in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels (Revelation 3:5 NASB)."
