The Great Plan For You!
by Tonja Taylor

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.--Deuteronomy 30:19, AMPC

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).--John 10:10, AMPC

"Make good choices," we tell our kids and students.  We want them to have a wonderful life; God's Plan for us all, from the beginning, in the Garden of Eden!

Our lives are, I now know, actually comprised--made up--of our choices.

When I was teaching 4/5 grade robotics at a public school years ago, I had to give a few students a discipline writing assignment. Instead of the usual boring one, the LORD had me quickly write this ("The Great Plan", below), for them to copy.

Not only were they quiet as they wrote, but they wanted copies to take home to share with their families!

There is a Great Plan for my life, as created and ordered by God. (Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10 and 3:20, Colossians 1:9-10)

It is a wonderful Plan; one I will enjoy very much.  (Psalm 31:19, John 10:10, I Corinthians 2:9, Ephesias 3:20)

This Plan is affected by my choices, every day. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20, Proverbs 1:7, Joshua 24:15, Romans 14:22).

My choices are full of power—for good or bad.  (Deuteronomy 30:19-20, Psalm 25:12, Romans 14:22, James 4:4).

My choices are llke ripples on the lake of my life. When I make a choice, it affects my life—and many others—so I decide today to make good choices and enjoy the Great Plan God has for me! (Deuteronomy 30:19, john 10:10; Romans 14:22, Ephesians 2:10 and 3:20)

1Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you.…Romans 12:1-3, Berean Standard Bible

Take this for yourself, your family, your students, and other loved ones. Quoting even one of these Scriptures aloud over yourself and loved ones will change your lives for good!  Even better, have your kids and/or students write them out, and keep copies for themselves to speak out loud.

God watches over His Word to perform it, and His living Word washes the mud of wrong thinking out of our souls (minds, wills, emotions) when we speak it aloud, read it, and otherwise meditate (think about over and over) it!

“You have observed correctly,” said the LORD, “for I am watching over My word to accomplish it.”--Jeremiah 1:12, Berean Standard Bible

In addition, His holy angels go to work to make God's unchanging, life-bringing Word to pass in our lives, when they hear it on our lips! Hallelujah!

Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His word, who hearken to the voice of His command.--Psalm 103:20, Berean Standard Bible

Hallelujah!
