Is Your Heart Fixed?
by Olawale Ogunsola An African proverb is transliterated thus, "A hunter kills an animal with double minds." So it is with human beings. A man with an unstable heart is at great risk. He stands up for nothing and can easily fall for anything. He chases nothing, in particular, so he accepts whatever he is given or is made available. He goes nowhere in specifics so he is taken anywhere by anyone. Life is not to be lived with double hearts, otherwise, the fellow can easily be prey to the enemies. It is dangerous to halt between two opinions for long, 1 King's 18:21. It's good to have a fixed heart on the Lord. It is only the Lord, God Who can be a sure Shelter and a strong Tower to those who have a fixed heart on Him. That is one of the reasons the Psalms purposed to abide in His Tabernacle forever. You also need a sure place of security only available in the Lord, Psalms 61:3-5. Anyone whose heart is truly fixed on the Lord will have his soul waiting upon God and his salvation will come from Him. He will defend him so that he is not moved much if moved at all. There may be some shaking but he will remain stable, Psalms 62:1-2. Where is it fixed? Where is your heart fixed? Is it fixed on the Lord your Creator? Do you put your trust in the Personality to whom you will give account at the end of your journey on this Earth? Henceforth, let your heart be fixed on the Lord and it shall be well with you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
