LAWS WERE MADE FOR THE LAWLESS
by linzy bruno

"knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers.” (1Timothy 1:9)

In God’s Economy, laws were intended for the lawless, as the lawless cannot govern themselves due to their severe lack of moral character; for they do not abide in the Spirit of the Lord God.

But those in Christ do not have need of the law; the indwelling Spirit of God leads and guides and directs those who are in Christ.

Jesus has told us that He speaks directly to His children and His children hear His Voice, therefore, the children of God are both smiled upon, as well as chastised in accordance with their individual situations, sins, spiritual and emotional maturity levels, perceptions and actions. He takes it all into account and only He knows how to properly deal with us; each one of us individually, not through the following of rules and regulations, but His personal guidance and leading.

“My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)

AND, inasmuch as we hear His Voice, we have freedom from the law. We are free in Him…..See the following verses:

1Corinthians 3:17, Romans 6:18 & 22 & 8:1-4, James 1:25, 1Peter 2:16, John 8:32 & 36, Psalm 118:5 & 119:45, Galatians 2:4 & 5:1-6, Luke 4:18-19, Ephesians 3:12, Colossians 1:21-23 & Hebrews 2:14-15

But with freedom comes responsibility, which is pivotal, as the Apostle Paul reminds his church in Galatians 5:13-14:

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Verses on The Freedom, Guidance & Gifts of the Spirit:

These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” (1Corinthians 2:13)

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” (1Corinthians 12:7-11)

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” (Galatians 5:18)

“ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)

“ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (Acts 13:2)

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,” (Acts 20:22)

Ironically, as the world continues to spin out of control and God's morality continues to be looked down upon, the concept of law will turn on the righteous; making the following of Christ into a crime:

But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit” (Mark 13:11)
