STRENGTH IN TROUBLESOME TIMES
by Lupie Riley Freelance writer Lupie Riley Thought: Most of us reading this would agree were living in troublesome times. The last three years have made a grievous change in our lifestyle. Mandatory vaccines, face masks, social distancing, closing of schools and churches, medical care compromised, and the list goes on like something out of a bad fiction movie. A high percentage of the masses obeyed the rules coming from maniacal dictators behind the scenes whose goal was to turn America into a third world country. This goal is still active today. What is our response to these changes? 2020 brought this destruction upon us like a lightning bolt. It has caused many of us to look at our priorities. What is important to us right now? Is it houses, car’s, bank accounts, anything we consider a security, things that will someday be taken away or left behind? When that trumpet blows, and that will be soon according to the prophetic timetable, will we look behind at what we are leaving like Lot’s wife, or look up to whom we are about to meet in the air? What is the Rock we stand on, what do we put our confidence in? What is our hope and strength? Is Jesus that Rock? The King who will someday rule the world for 1,000 years. Here are words from our Lord that is our Rock and strength in times like these. Isa. 41:10 “Fear not for I AM with you. Do not be dismayed. I AM your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” II Tim. 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of a sound mind.” I Peter 5:7 “Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.” Rom. 8:28 “And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.” Heb. 13:5b,6 “For God has said, “I will never, never, fail you nor forsake you.” That is why we can say without any doubt or fear, “The Lord is my Helper, and I am not afraid of anything mere man can do to me.” Others to look up: Det.31:6, John 14:27, Psalms 55:22. Quote: “Those who have real courage are willing to buck the crowd, not swim with it!” God’s Word keeps us calm, fearless, and trusting in His promises. He will never leave us alone. Prayer: Father God what incredible strength we have when we stand on Jesus the Rock. Amen Verse: I Peter 2:4, 6b “Come to Christ who is the living foundation of ROCK upon which God builds; though men have spurned him, he is very precious to God who has chosen him above all others. V.6b Christ to be the carefully chosen, precious Cornerstone of my church and I will never disappoint those who trust in him.”
