*7 REASONS WHY EVERY BELIEVER SHOULD PAY THEIR TITHES — PART 7c*

*Introduction*

Some weeks ago, we considered the first reason out of the 7 reasons why every believer should pay their tithes.

The following week, we looked at the second reason.

Then, we dwelt on the third reason.

Later on, we dealt with the fourth reason.

After that, we looked at the first part of the fifth reason.

Next, we continued with the second segment of the fifth reason.

Later, we completed the fifth reason with its third segment.

Subsequently, we looked at the sixth reason.

Now, God willing, we want to deal with the seventh reason.

That first reason mentioned was — *REASON 1: TITHES STARTED BEFORE THE LAW; WERE EFFECTIVE AND REINFORCED UNDER THE LAW; AND CONTINUES AFTER THE LAW – UNDER GRACE*

The second reason was — *REASON 2: TITHES BELONG TO GOD.*

The third reason was — *REASON 3: REFUSING TO PAY YOUR FULL TITHES & OFFERINGS TO YOUR LOCAL CHURCH MEANS YOU ARE A THIEF STEALING GOD'S MONEY/RESOURCES*

The fourth reason was —
*REASON 4. ALL THIEVES, INCLUDING THOSE REFUSING TO PAY TITHES AND OFFERINGS & THOSE PASTORS OR CHURCH LEADERS WHO ARE SITTING ON EVERYTHING WRONGLY AS THEIR OWN WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN*

The fifth reason was — *REASON 5: THERE ARE GENUINE WITNESSES ESTABLISHING THE TRUTH*

The sixth reason was —*REASON 6: THERE ARE PIECES OF EVIDENCE FROM "HEAVEN AND HELL TESTIMONIES" THAT NON-PAYMENT OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS HAS ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES*

Now, the seventh reason is: *REASON 7: IT'S A MEANS OF LAYING UP TREASURE IN HEAVEN FOR YOURSELF AGAINST THE TIME TO COME AS WELL AS A MEANS OF HELPING OTHERS AND YOURSELF*

*TWELVE REASONS WHY THINGS ARE TIGHT FOR SOME BELIEVERS PAYING TITHES*

*4. THEY PAY THEIR TITHES LATE*

Psalm 119:60 KJV
*I MADE HASTE, and DELAYED NOT TO KEEP THY COMMANDMENTS.*

The psalmist understood the power of acting fast on God's Word.

And he must have equally learnt perhaps bitterly the danger and consequences of delayed obedience, which is nothing but disobedience in disguise.

Imagine someone who is supposed to pay his tithes in April, but keeps the money in an envelope or in bank till May or June for some silly reasons.

The truth is: delaying giving your tithes and offerings is delaying your blessing.

Worse still, delaying giving your tithes and offerings is disobedience and dishonour to God.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 NLT
*1 THERE IS A TIME FOR EVERYTHING, A SEASON FOR EVERY ACTIVITY UNDER HEAVEN. 2 A time to be born and a time to die. A TIME TO PLANT AND A TIME TO HARVEST.*

Your tithes and offerings don't count until they are paid.

Late payment is equivalent to late harvest, poor harvest or wasted harvest.

Don't slow yourself down on the journey to prosperity and success.

Don't take two steps forwards, but seven steps backwards.

Don't put your own life in the reverse gear.

Don't spend 40 years on a journey of 40 days.

Don't achieve in old age what God wants you to achieve as a youth (young boy or girl) or as a middle aged person.

Don't postpone today's blessing till tomorrow.

*5. THEY PAY THEIR TITHES ON UNFERTILE GROUND*

Jeremiah 4:3 KJV
*For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.*

On the one hand, some Churches or their leaders are just like thorny ground that will never produce good harvest!

You see, thorny ground allows the plant to grow to some extent, but, it does not allow it to bear fruits. It chokes up the plant.

On the other hand, some other Churches or their leaders are just like stony ground that will never allow the plant to germinate or have firm roots let alone produce good harvest!

Interestingly, although the parable of the sower is not addressing tithes and offerings, yet, there is a series of lessons for all to learn about sowing in general here.

So, in the parable of the sower, the seeds among thorns had shoot problem (difficulty in growing upwards) while the ones on the rocky or stony ground had root problem (difficulty in growing downwards).

Then, the seeds that fell by the wayside remind me of one giving one's tithes to oneself or scattering them outside one's local Church against Scriptural order, prescription or injunction.

*Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. [10] And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store. [11] Then Hezekiah commanded TO PREPARE CHAMBERS IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD; AND THEY PREPARED THEM, [12] AND BROUGHT IN THE OFFERINGS AND THE TITHES and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.*

Malachi 3:10 KJV
*Bring ye ALL THE TITHES into THE STOREHOUSE, that there may be meat in MINE HOUSE,* and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

(Your tithes should go to your local Church as explained earlier from the Scripture in one of the sections. But, a pastor can collect his own tithes and then give to his local Church.)

Tithes given by an individual believer to Christian organizations, Bible Schools, evangelistic outreaches, and so on may amount to sowing in unfertile ground.

However, when believers give their tithes to their respective local Churches, then it's Scriptural.

But, their Church leaders, in turn, may give from the tithe collection to Christian organizations, Bible Schools, evangelistic outreaches, and so on.

Very importantly, individual believers can give good offerings to support Christian organizations, Bible Schools, evangelistic outreaches, and so; but, they should not give their tithes to such, except to their respective local Churches.

Friend, if your local Church is not worthy to receive your tithes, then what are you doing there?

You must also show submission to the authority of your local Church by giving your tithes there accompanied by giving good offering consistently.

As a matter of great caution, if your local Church seems or proves to be unfertile ground, then you need to sort it out with God carefully, wisely, prayerfully and patiently.

Romans 8:14 KJV
*For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*

Always remember that unfertile ground will never produce fertile results.

Matthew 13:3-9 KJV
*And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; [4] And when he sowed, some seeds fell BY THE WAY SIDE, and the fowls came and devoured them up: [5] Some fell upon STONY PLACES, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: [6] And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had NO ROOT, they withered away. [7] And some fell AMONG THORNS; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: [8] But other fell into GOOD GROUND, and brought forth fruit, SOME AN HUNDREDFOLD, SOME SIXTYFOLD, SOME THIRTYFOLD. [9] Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.*

Even those that fell on good or fertile ground can produce results 30 percent, 60 percent or 100 percent depending on various factors determined by the individual believer.

You see, you and I (not God) determine if we are going to receive 30-fold, 60-fold or 100-fold return on our tithes and offerings!

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: *FOR THEN THOU SHALT MAKE THY WAY PROSPEROUS, AND THEN THOU SHALT HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.*

This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. *FOR THEN YOU SHALL MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS, AND THEN YOU SHALL DEAL WISELY AND HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.*

Did you see that?

*... FOR THEN THOU SHALT MAKE THY WAY PROSPEROUS, AND THEN THOU SHALT HAVE GOOD SUCCESS* (Joshua 1:8b KJV).

*... FOR THEN YOU SHALL MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS, AND THEN YOU SHALL DEAL WISELY AND HAVE GOOD SUCCESS* (Joshua 1:8b AMPC).

You see, it's your responsibility to make your own way prosperous (have provision for your God-given vision) — 30 percent, 60 percent or 100 percent!

Again, it's equally your responsibility to have good success (fulfil your God-given vision) — 30 percent, 60 percent or 100 percent!

Also, it's your responsibility to deal wisely (wise up in executing your God-given vision and in life generally) — 30 percent, 60 percent or 100 percent!

In Jesus' name, I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto me and the Body of Christ locally and globally, especially ..... [mention the names of specific people whose hearts are hardened towards tithes] THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM and REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM: THE EYES OF OUR UNDERSTANDING BEING ENLIGHTENED on tithes [you may mention other things ....] ; that we may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints ...

Therefore, I receive the Holy Spirit by faith right now and I begin to speak in an unknown tongue (unlearned tongue) as He gives me the utterance.
I command every foul spirit [spirit of fear, spirit of unbelief, spirit of doubt, religious spirit, unforgiving spirit…] wanting to hinder me to stop in its evil operation in my life in Jesus’ name.
Thank you God for filling me with your Spirit in Jesus’ name (Amen).
